Smoked an Omar Ortez Original Belicoso...a solid cigar, short finish, straight forward medium bodied smoke. Not too complex. Mostly woody core with a touch of leather. i give it an 87. A solid go to stick for an average night.

Also smoked a DPG 1970 Figurado. Pretty dang good. Nice smooth leather core with some charcoal, smokey flavors blended in. A little spice as well. Medium finish. The last 3rd had some spice flavors in it that i couldn't pick up on. I give this one a 90. Will certainly try others in this line. Have had the toro, looking for the robusto. I'm going to a b&m here in pittsubrgh that says they have several from that line. Can't wait to get mhy hands on some more. They're good.

Having now smoked a small handful of pepin stuff, i'm starting to be able to pick up on his flavor profiles...i think. I like it.

As i said on the other "today's smoke" thread...

i did the Omar Ortex Original. Not bad. a solid everyday smoke. 87 rating from me, 89 from CA

Also did the DPG 1970 Figurado. Much better than the OOO i had before it. This is the 2nd DPG 1970 i've had and they are good. I will certainly pick some more of these up.

On a related note, i smoked both of those during my drive this evening to Pittsburgh. 3 and a 1/2 hours. I discovered this evening that i do my best smoking while i'm driving. Nothing to pay attention to but the cigar and it's flavors. Very few phone calls, if any. I can concentrate. I like it. From now on, if i need to get serious about a cigar, i'm smoking it in my truck. I see a lot of driving in my future.

HdM Short Robusto T minus 1 hour and it's on!
Let me know what you think of it, I think the woody finish is a little too much, the the floral, fruity flavors come through pretty strong...but that's just my pallete.

As for me, I'm smokng a Padron 64 Anni Exclusivo...this time in the natural wrapper. First one out of the box, not bad. I prefer the maduro wrapper more for this vitola, but these are also fantastic.

Happy Friday!

Started the day with a 5 Vegas Gold Nugget. It was like eating a twinky for breakfast. Yum.

I had the first PSD 4 out of the box...struggling with burn and draw issues right now...I should really let these sit longer, but I'm so damn impatient.

Nice looking stick and it is so darn hard to be patient when they look and smell so good. And it does not help in the least when they are talked up on this board.

Yeah, I really made a mistake by cracking the box so soon. These are either just starting a sick period or just getting through one. The boquet was great, no ammonia smell anywhere...but the taste was evident. The burn and draw issues are most likely a construction or storage issue. These will be revisited in 6 months.
