So why a 1911? Just curious why you're dead set on one of them. When I return to the states I'll be buying another glock(probably, G20, 10mm which can switch between 10 and .45) while I still have military ID(sweet discount), and then working on a Walther PPS. The Walther is being purchased with the sole intent of carry. It's rail thin single stack and can be had in .40. Now if you're just hell bent on a .45 then I can't really think of any alternatives that are as thin as a 1911. Well on closer look at the Para it's the EMP and they won't come in .45 if my memory serves me(which it normally doesn't) I would go with the Para though between the two. Is the EMP out in .40 yet? I know when they released it was planned but haven't checked back into them since. Like I said I've been eying the PPS and it has the same capacity, is just as thin, and is half the price.
I'm by no means a gun expert btw, and am not trying to sway your choices one bit. I'm a to each their own type of guy. I just hear so much about how additional gunsmithing needs to be done on 1911s to make them work as reliable as the most reliable polymers.
