I don't mean to be that guy and come off as a dick when I mention the search function, or even just looking through the Storage forum. However, keep in mind that questions as basic as seasoning a humidor, must've been talked about on BOTL a few times. In addition, I did a Google on "season a humidor" and got results on 123,000 pages. Lots of information on the web about how to season a humidor. Lots of different opinions on how to do it. Read a bit and do the one you feel most comfortable with.I was wondering how everyone goes about seasoning their humidor.
HAW! <G>I don't mean to be that guy and come off as a dick when I mention the search function, or even just looking through the Storage forum. However...

maybe he wanted a personal testament instead of hoping he picks the right one:dunno:I don't mean to be that guy and come off as a dick when I mention the search function, or even just looking through the Storage forum. using those kits are a bad idea?..... but i have friends who have bought seasoning "kits" from bovedo, etc.......
No, just expensive.using those kits are a bad idea?
haven't heard of the hot water, how's that work?I used the hot water method, worked great for me.
That's exactly my point though, you can talk to five guys, and get five "personal testaments" and each one may be different...and they'll all probably work fine. Common sense is the key, soak your humidor in a 10 gallon bucket of distilled water for two weeks...not such a good idea, follow any of those five guys methods...probably will work just fine.maybe he wanted a personal testament instead of hoping he picks the right one:dunno:
wipe down your humi with distilled water, then take a cup of really hot distilled water and put it in your humi, let the steam absorb into the cedar. Repeat process a couple of times, seasons a humi in half the time. I also had no warping issues either.
