Let me start by giving props to Greg who sent this (as well as a few other beauties) to me last week as part of the Super Bowl squares winnings.
Snipped and toasted, which gave forth aromas of cedar and spice.
Overall, the cigar did not change much as far as the flavor profile: Lots of cedar, earth tones, and walnuts. Just as Romeos always provide notes of orange peel, I usually get an almost bitter influence of walnuts from Partagas. A hint of some spice as well Possibly white pepper.
The burn was fantastic No corrections or re-lights necessary. The ash was solid and dark grey, and the burn line was very sharp; indicating possible age (Greg? What year was this?!) and definitely a great wrapper choice.
I have a few other boxes of Partagas in my humi (Serie D #3 EL 01, and Serie P #2 04) but there was something about the way this cigar delivered a consistent flavor profile from start to finish; intensifying as it went along Very well blended and constructed.
Great smoke!
