Well, I was lucky enough to get one of these in a trade from a very generous brother on the board. And I wanted to have the time to enjoy it as well. So, I decided Sunday was the day. Was lucky enough to buy one of these pots while at Cabela's a few years back and it is actually made in South Africa. We make a traditional stew called a "potjie" which literally means pot, in it, the cooking process takes a few hours and the result can be mixed depending on how much one imbibes while cooking. This particular one was excellent.
Anyway, I digress, the Frank was a perfect accompaniment. I did not concentrate too much on all the details of the flavors etc. but it was a fantastic smoke, the ash was perfect, draw was great and when it was over I was actually looking for more. Just the perfect way to spend a quiet Sunday cooking and having a great time. Not going to get too many opportunities to smoke one so it seemed an appropriate pairing.
