Well, I was lucky enough to get one of these in a trade from a very generous brother on the board. And I wanted to have the time to enjoy it as well. So, I decided Sunday was the day. Was lucky enough to buy one of these pots while at Cabela's a few years back and it is actually made in South Africa. We make a traditional stew called a "potjie" which literally means pot, in it, the cooking process takes a few hours and the result can be mixed depending on how much one imbibes while cooking. This particular one was excellent.

Anyway, I digress, the Frank was a perfect accompaniment. I did not concentrate too much on all the details of the flavors etc. but it was a fantastic smoke, the ash was perfect, draw was great and when it was over I was actually looking for more. Just the perfect way to spend a quiet Sunday cooking and having a great time. Not going to get too many opportunities to smoke one so it seemed an appropriate pairing.

Thanks, looks yummy!

Hmm... Thanks for the review and pics! The "pot" looks tasty! I may have to smoke my Frank this weekend!
I am saving my Frank for Halloween! That way I don't have to open my box of Dracs for awhile.... Yes I refer to them as if I already have them lol

don't know why you have to buy your pot at cabela's. looks like your garden would do just fine!!!
sounds like a great way to spend the day. did you think there was a resemblance between the taino and the frank?

I thought the Taino was pretty similar to the Frank, that is why I ended up smoking them back to back to see. My tastebuds have never been super sensitive so it is good to know that I can get a similar smoke in the Taino. And the ashtray in the pic is one I made from resin with a bicycle chainring set in the resin.

Both were very good, the food and the cigar. Probably lasted around 2 hrs. Wasn't keeping a good look on the clock and also had to watch how much wine went into the pot....
