I'm biased because I'm from MA and I agree by and large with his politics. Having said that, the man was from from perfect and had more than his fair share of moral failings.
But, before others choose to speak ill of the deceased, it seems appropriate to remember that he gave his life to the service of his country. And he chose to do that after watching both of his older brothers, who made a similar choice, be rewarded with an assassin's bullets. Yeah, he grew up with money, but a lot of people who grow up with money become indolent asses, who contribute nothing at all to society.
You don't like his politics? Absolutely fine. But before we start trotting out Mary Jo references, maybe we could think about showing a little bit more class and respect for someone who never questioned that giving his life to his country was the right thing to do...if only for today.
If this is too much of a request for some of you, perhaps you could stick to the simpler rule that Mom gave you, which is that "if you don't have anything nice to say...maybe its better not to say anything at all..."

I thought this was a RIP thread, which should remain free of politics and negative opinions, as the title suggests.

As for Kennedy he is gone and he had a huge impact on the states. He left a legacy and his legacy will be discussed for years. He will live on much longer then his mortal body did.
This thread pretty clearly makes me remember why I left BOTL for more than a few months.
