Padron Family Reserve Maduro - one of my most anticipated new releases. one of my biggest disappointments. started off harsh - I mean HARSH. then it kinda got pepin-esque for a while, dulled out to nothing for an inch (except for a little bite) and then kinda got good at the end. WTF? These are supposed to be aged...

Winston Churchill Spitfire - filler is mixed filler blend of 50% Millenium blend and 50% Winston blend w/ a Millenium wrapper. soooo... yeah, this was a really good short smoke!

My Father Le Bijou
- the one I snoked was a little wet. The flavors were pretty good though, doesn't have the bite like other Pepin blends. It tasted like it had My Father filler w/ the Nestor Miranda Habano Oscuro wrapper.

Viaje 50/50 - strong cigar! first half was very strong and then it mellowed to just strong. it was a bit of palate-killer. wouldn't be my everyday cup-o-tea.

La Flor Double Press
- has that Ecuadorian Habano taste to it, but it burned porrly and had a bad draw. made it difficult to enjoy.

Cain Maduro - the sweetness helps add complexity to this strong blend. the mix of ligero is nice but the strenght and flavor gets old after a while.

Cain Habano - a little more bite than the Maduro, plus a little more leathery-ness. It draws and smokes better than the Mad, but left me wanting more flavorwise.

Cain F - this limited release blend is, to me, stronger than the other two. Plus waaaaay more bite. This one was hard to finish...

Jealous that you've smoked all of those already. Thanks for the quick reviews. Hearing that the Padron was disappointing is kind of devastating to my Padron Ho'ness.

the Padron was kinda unbelievable. but three other guys in the shop were also smoking one and all shared similar opinions. they were very bummed as well.
I am going to have to disagree with you...It was STRONG, no doubt, but I kinda loved it... :)

(review coming soon)

I am smoking the new Padron right now and I did not get the harshness you are talking about. I am enjoying the flavors but at $26 it is overpriced but I feel that way about most Padrons.

The only one I've had on the list is the Cain Maduro, which i quite like. When the show up on the discount sites I'll definately get a 5er.

Thanks for the info on these new smokes.

I've tried the Le Bijou and the Cain Maduro. Funny, I think the Le Bijou I had was a little wet as well but I definitely enjoyed it. The Cain Maduro was an enjoyable cigar but I found it to be one-dimensional, I did make sure to smoke it verrrry slow so as not to knock myself out!

I have a Cain Habano and a Cain F in the humi, sometime soon I'll give those a try. I know that the Cain F has a larger percentage of Esteli ligero (32%), which I hear is the strongest.

the strength is also more "in your face" with the F.
