Nice piece, my buddy's got the .40 cal version of that and I've put quite a few rounds through it and it's very serviceable for a polymer pistol. I can't get used to the weight balance myself, as I'm a steel frame guy, but if I had to carry, the xd is a great choice. Try the Hornady TAP ammo as that was very accurate in the .40 that I shot. Congrats on the purchase.

Exact same way here in TX, and to top that off you can take a one day class and apply for a concealed handgun liscense. I got mine just because I will usually carry in my car (which is also legal in TX) but when on the bike I did not want to leave a heater sitting in my saddle bags. Congrats on your first! Its an addiction just like gars and you will buy more trust me!

You have to take a class? Here in bumblefuck PA (between Pittsburg and Philly) there are no requirements other than you can fill out the application and that you're 21. Plus it counts as another state issued photo ID, although it creeps people out when they ask for two kinds of id(like at the bank).

You have to take the class only if you want to be able to carry a concealed weapon. Any knuckle head can get a gun here by just filling out a little paperwork and the quick background check phone call.

Yeah that's what I mean you have to take a class to carry. We don't not that I think it's a good thing not having to take a class. I didn't need one after six years in the military but some people should have one.
