So I was tempted to pick up this Liga Privada #9 (Drew Estate) because I tend to gravitate toward darker smokes. Now appearence wise it looks like an azz kicker...black as coal...and smooth almost veinless....looks beautiful. So I clip the cap and the draw was rather tight but not too much I couldn't smoke it. So I lite it up....I get a really sweet slight bitterness taste, little chocolate, and a char kinda flavor. The stick burns evern but doesn't change up a bit in the flavor department...very bland. The smoke it would appear looking at this stick would be heavy but it isn't...this would appear to be a heavier smoke but it is more on the medium side. I found it disappointing especially for a $10 stick. Maybe it's this particular size...not sure...but I won't be buying another to find out. :shame:
E-man67,

Fwiw, LP #9s are very rarely tight, but it does regretfully happen in any handmade product and imo, if it is you such just pitch it. Without the proper draw, the combustion rate is all wrong and the cigar will not taste right.

I would greatly appreciate it if you emailed me your snail mail so I can get you a replacement smoke or two. You may still not like the cigar and if you post so, no problem, not every cigar is for everyone, but nobody should pay $11 for a tight cigar so we owe you.

Much thanks,

I liked the #9, but is FAR outshined by the "Flying Pig" and the T-52...

JMHO...

I could not agree more about the Flying Pig. I had the one you sent last night while at Casa Fuente with Randy, and it was great. I will be getting more of those when they hit. As for the # 9, I thought it was good, just not great.

Can't wait to try the "Flying Pig," I just love that name. It sorta sounds like a "Verocu" version of the LP#9 -- SWEET! And of course the T-52 sounds great too.

NJStone just pointed Steve Saka's post out to me. I just fired this email off to him:

Hello Mr. Saka,

I just saw your follow up post to my review of the Liga Privada #9 on the BOTL forum. I really appreciate the offer in sending me a replacement stick as the one I purchased had a tight draw. It is not often one gets involved in such matters much less the president of the company! I thank you for your concern in addressing the matter personally. What great customer service! This just shows the integrity of your company. Thanks so much for listening!

Sincerely,
Eric
