Bands mean nothing? Bands are part of the authentication.....If your source has phoney bands, you better switch your source!

The timeframe of 2002-2004 was about par for the course for Monte & Cohiba band changes. Earlier for Cohiba (november 2002) said:
Thanks thats what I was looking for.

No, the link is right - side by side, the band is identical with the 'real' one.
Except for the line of black above the top row of white squares.... On CA and vitolas they have it shown w/ black on top. On the cuban cigar website they show no black line above.

:rofl:They all look fake to me LOL

Post a photo of the cigar, of the cap and the foot. It'll make it all easier. Also, was the price too good?

Smoked 2 and still have this one. I got it at a local and brought it to another to make sure it was real. Two reputable places, so i'm sure its real.

Here is my take wich often means nothing. It may be real it may be fake. It often doesnt matter who you get them from(even though trusted sources are always a must). Let your palate go clean a few days, smoke it and finally take notes. If you have had the Cohiba line before you'll prob pick up some similarities from previous experiences. Take your time with it from cutting, lighting and finally smoking it. If its fake in the 1st 3rd smoke it or toss it. If its real it may be 1 of your more memorable smoke to date.
I have learned since being here that CCs (even harder to finds) will come and go. Although this year I've been buying more of the beloved leaf then ever I also find that there not the "holy grail" I once thought them to be.
Please dont worry about the authenticity of the cigar unless its someway a means of future purchasing.
Most important please share what you find in the near future. We'll be waiting for your review. Maybe it will just be the smoke of the year for you.
Enjoy,
Justin
