your story makes it real clear...I don't have to go all perry mason on the width of black (although that is pretty bad band)

that is fugazi, and either they: know it which makes them not your friend, naive and ignorant which should exclude them from your source list, or simply so foolish as to jeopardize their business for it...

there are so many things in the story that leads to this conclusion. These exact stories pop up quite often.

save your dough. For the same price, you can get some from a real source and not support counterfitters.

Edit: Oh, and don't send it out to people in "bombs", PIFS, trades, etc. Just toss it or smoke it. It doesn't need to start making the rounds, which fakes have a habit of doing.

yups its a fake

Here is a site link to which shows tons of fake cohiba bands. Just keep hitting next. There is even one purchased in PA. This one looks similar to yours in the black section at the top.
http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Counterfeits/Counterfeit_Page/0,3391,17,00.html

While not all the fakes look like yours, there is one consistent and unchanging fact. None of the real bands look like yours. There is a reason they dont look like your band. Also as I said before the script is a dead giveaway. Its bad and the wrong color. the script would not fade out like that while the rest of the ink stayed perfect. The whole band would be fugged for that to happen.

People with a lot more experience then you are trying to help you here. In many ways you seem to me to be refusing the help. Do as you please, but that is a fake cohiba. You asked for advice. The overwhelming opinion is fake. The shop may or may not know. I believe they know and are taking advantage of a person who is not famialiar with cubans.

ctaylor - I'm not saying whatchu bought is fake, but there's plenty of the typical warning signs pointing to these possibly being fake.....things we all see over and over and over and over again. Part of that is the suspect band, part is the propensity of that particular cigar to be counterfeited, part is the extremely dicey "under the counter, in the back" purchase from a b&m in the U.S.

What you have might be real, and it might be fake. Without inspecting and smoking it ourselves, we can't answer that question.

ctaylor I guess you didn't like the answers you got here so you went elsewhere. He did send a link back here, which is bad form to say the least. There is a lot of knowledge here, so don't assume if you go to another cigar board you'll get a better answer.

The masses here have given you some solid information, for the most part when you have to ask if they are fake they almost always are!
