The following quote is form the Imperial-Tobacco website.You've got it all wrong; Altadis USA is the company that sued Pete as well as the company that produces all those SHITASSED NCs with the old Cuban trademarks. That's the company I could give two-fucks about.
Altadis SA (now owned by Imperial Tobacco) is the parent company who purchased a 50% interest in Habanos SA--but let's be clear here, they DO NOT manufacture or own the brands of the Cuban cigars being produced today.
We're talking about completely different corporations here, with different management, different staff, different trademark ownerships and different products entirely. The name may be the same (or at least once was, before the Imperial buyout) but they're totally different legal entities.

I don't see the separation you are referring to. I've always believed the legal attack on Pete had nothing to do with the flor, but everything to do with his copying the Cuban regional and special releases.
