Well guys I'm not quite what sure to do here. My wife used to put up with my smoking but lately has just been over the top about it. She has been hassling me none stop lately to the point where I don't even want to bring out a cigar around her. She used to be OK with it too. I'm not sure what to do now.

Any of the other brothers have this kind of problem?? By the way the worlds most expensive divorce settlements is what made me think to post his :)

Well you basically have 3 options

1. Quit Smoking
2. Find A New WIfe
3. Reach A Compromise

Option 3 would be my suggestion

If you elect to go with #! let me know, so I can offer you a fair deal on your stash, but if I were you I would work on either #3 or bribes.

Nothing new has changed. After we had our kids she was aginst it more but our oldest is almost 3 now. She is a health nut, works out everyday hardley drinks and eats right. So she has always been against it but tolerated it.

Smoke less often. Tell her its one of your last pure pleasures, and its your way to unwind. Start to golf, you'd be out of the house for a few hours and she won't see you smoking.

Deja vu! My wife and I had this argument about a month ago. She is also a health food & exercise nut. I've been smoking for 5 years now, and she's never liked it, but she used to not mind as long as I didn't do it around our son.

Anyway, she wanted me to go down to 1 or 2 a month (yeah right!), and I proposed 5 a week. We compromised at 3 per week which shouldn't be hard during the winter months, and she'll eventually quit counting. Plus she has no idea how many I smoke when I'm out with friends (usually 3)!

Hey Dude I hear you, my wife "lets me smoke". Every holiday I pull out a cigar she say "you are going to smoke that today". Pick your battles if is that big of a deal, I cut back to not sa many cigars in a month that I want to have but life is better. When she gets a cold I love it since she can not smell the smoke(I have had one every day this week). But in my case maybe do a little more around the house or a few more things that that you would otherwise not do to a lot to look betterin her eyes. Hey it might seem like crap but it works for me and I get less crap from the wife.

Do what you have to do, let me konw if you need to talk.

I probably smoke more on the golf course than anywhere else. Of course, my wife golfs too so she sees/smells it then too. Funny thing is she can tell the difference most of the time between a cuban and a nc. Only time she complains is when I've been smoking indoors somewhere.

And for the record, I vote for choice #3 as well. Good luck.

Blow the smoke in her face? :king:

(I'm not a good person to listen to as I have no intention of marrying anytime soon)

Find a good lounge, when you get home shower, brush and change clothes(while placing the others in a bag) And have seperate jacket just for smoking.Suggest washing the offending clothes yourself. I know it's a pain in the ass but it will be worth it in the long run.I hope things turn out well.

I'd go with #3. Go for walks in the evening. Maybe that would be a good reason to get a dog. (Or go with a neighbor.)My wife doesn't mind if I smoke (she joins me sometimes) but doesn't want me to smoke around our son. So most of the time that I get to smoke is when I take Duke for walks. Maybe she'd even walk with you.
