Good luck Brooks. If I had any left I would send you one but those are long gone. New stuff pales by comparison.
Like i said haven't had either of the Oscuros so I can't comment on those. Although to me the regular corojo 1932 is the same cigar it was. Now I've only had one of the Pepin-rolled 32s (on my 32nd birthday last week!), but to me it was basically the same, a bit more refined yea, but also a year or two older. I think any difference could be said to be age (plus I think they release the current ones sooner) rather than Pepin-fairy-dust. Then again, I'm still a noob, so what do I know, lol.

Any specific size? I am partial to robustos and torpedoes, but I have never smoked one...

~brooks
I usually always try a robusto but I remember the torps as being excellent. Buy the box...

According to CI they are the same, I have about a dozen left after sending some out in bombs. I smoked one recently and it smoked a little dry, tunneling at the halfway point. That was after about 2 weeks in the humidor. I decided to let them rest for a while longer before revisiting them. Seconds maybe?

Well, that is just it...the Salamones are not expensive at all (not even close)..so that leads me to believe they are not the same blend/wrapper...

Any ideas?

Other than beautiful packaging and great marketing, can the materials used to construct the actual cigar justify a price of $20 to $30 each per cigar?

Can any cigar? I think price is dictated by demand, though msrp might be dictated by supply. In the case of these old Padilla Oscuros, the demand met the msrp. In some cases that's not true, in others demand exceeds msrp (Opus and Anejo).

I have 1 1932 Lancero left from when Pepin was with Padilla. They are wayyy better than the new padilla stuff. I do still like the padilla hybrids.
