ThanksGood luck Brooks. If I had any left I would send you one but those are long gone. New stuff pales by comparison.
Are these them?

Yep. Good search.
Any specific size? I am partial to robustos and torpedoes, but I have never smoked one...Yep. Good search.
Like i said haven't had either of the Oscuros so I can't comment on those. Although to me the regular corojo 1932 is the same cigar it was. Now I've only had one of the Pepin-rolled 32s (on my 32nd birthday last week!), but to me it was basically the same, a bit more refined yea, but also a year or two older. I think any difference could be said to be age (plus I think they release the current ones sooner) rather than Pepin-fairy-dust. Then again, I'm still a noob, so what do I know, lol.Good luck Brooks. If I had any left I would send you one but those are long gone. New stuff pales by comparison.
I usually always try a robusto but I remember the torps as being excellent. Buy the box...:grin:Any specific size? I am partial to robustos and torpedoes, but I have never smoked one...

Be careful, the Signature 1932 with the Western block lettering is indeed Pepin made while the newer Signature 1932 with the band written in script is not. As far as I know the 2009 Limitado Signature 1932 Salamone Oscuro are also not Pepin. These are Pepin made and are a very good smoke.......the humidor and cigars can still be had if your interested.http://www.cigarplace.biz/index.cfm/a/catalog.catshow/catid/232
Other than beautiful packaging and great marketing, can the materials used to construct the actual cigar justify a price of $20 to $30 each per cigar?Well, that is just it...the Salamones are not expensive at all (not even close)..so that leads me to believe they are not the same blend/wrapper...
Any ideas?

Can any cigar? I think price is dictated by demand, though msrp might be dictated by supply. In the case of these old Padilla Oscuros, the demand met the msrp. In some cases that's not true, in others demand exceeds msrp (Opus and Anejo).Other than beautiful packaging and great marketing, can the materials used to construct the actual cigar justify a price of $20 to $30 each per cigar?
Correct. The Signature 1932 humidor I believe was made when Pepin was still doing the cigars.
