Smells like the CG Blacks.....Maybe I am crazy but they smell like cookies! Either way they smell absolutely amazing...

Smoking one just after I got home. Been sitting inside for 24hrs out of Humi.

Appearance: Very well constructed, smooth yet a little toothy and oily wrapper, little veins.
Pre Light: coffee / chocolate (espresso??)

1st 1/3: Tastes EXACTLY like it smells and Pre Light flavors. A mild spice on retrohale, during burn ash is MUCH smaller in circumference than the cigar and the eyeliner is thicker than I have seen before....The flavors are not numerous, there is not a lot going on here, but the flavors that are there are great. For some reason the original smell of the cigar is not leaving me and that is all I taste...YUM

2nd 1/3: Same flavors as the 1st 3rd, smoothed out, continues medium to Medium-. Ash continues dark grey just like before.

last 1/3: Holding off as I smoked it kind of fast....It finished well but I need to smoke one slowly to get the full picture. It does leave a nice taste on your lips!

Overall, this cigar was great ROTT, I think after a little down time this will be an interesting cigar with a great profile..It is not a Full bodied smoke, rather Medium bodied smoke....Had to buy another 5er while they are available!

Thanks guys......These are right up there with the CG blacks as far as a tasty cigar with a great profile goes (as far as what I like).....Even though I smoked it fast it never got bitter at all. I smoked it in 40 minutes, but it would have easily lasted another 20 - 25 had I slowed down and had the time.

Hope the second one does not dissapoint....Looking forward to what others have to say and hoping I am not crazy!

I have burned through 3 of these in two days, plus gifting 8 leaves me down to 20. Something tells me I'm not tasting any 5 years from now with some good age unless I figure out a way to put a lock on the jar and throw away the key.

One question. How would you store these for longer term 5years? In jar without lid? I'm talking in a walk-in.

Killer smoke. Thanks Chris.

One of the few smokes, lately, that I have taken the band off to finish.

Stopped by a new (to me) B&M today lookin for these. The owner knows the line, but doesn't sell it. He compared the Viajes to the Alec Bradley Family Blend, of which he gifted me one for buying 7 other cigars. He said they are made by the same factory and said they are very similar. Any ideas on that?

Not even close. Had a AB Family Blend yesterday and it was good, but nothing like the Viaje Exclusivo!

So which is better, the exclusivo or holiday blend? Can you even compare them?
I do not think there is any comparison except I would take the exclusivo over the holiday blend anyday. Not sure of the blend but I do not think it is anywhere close to the same.

BUT....As I noted the eyeliner (Pete's reference to the burn line) was very thick and made the wrapper appear very thick (compared to other cigars). Maybe that was where I was getting all the flavor from, especially since the smell of the cigar closely matched the flavors when smoking....

But hey, what do I know.....JMHO

We will see how the second one smoke tomorrow <G>, then Saturday, then well....maybe I will let them rest after that.

.....I was thinking the same. I will transfer to a cedar box(old padron or opus box) for long term storage.
