Sorry to hear, Nate. I hope everything works out ok for you and the family. I'd say make the most of it. Not many people get to go overseas...Take me with you. I wanna go.

As far as CCs, the place we're going is more or less the middle of nowhere, there is not much of a town to speak of nearby, so I doubt there is a cigar shop.
I have a sneaky suspicion WE can make up for Japan's shortcomings...

Godspeed Brother.

Very sorry to hear Nate. You gotta look on the bright side of things though...your kids are young so by the time your wife finishes her tour they still won't be ready for school till you come back to the states...this is a great opportunity for you both as from what I hear Japan is a great place...your wife won't have 200K+++ med school bills to burden your family with when she gets out...your wife will be a doctor and not just any doctor but a specialist in high demand...dudes are always gonna be here for ya and hell we can e-herf! Japan will be a new and exciting experience for you guys...and you had better invite me to your Japan pad!

You'd be surprised, the Japanese smoke a ton. Also you should get in touch with Burgess from cbid he lives over there and might be able to answer any questions that you have.

Japan is a blast. I was stationed there 2 times and it was fantastic. Honestly it is a great place to raise a family, however, it looks like your child will be too young to really get anything from it. It sounds like you are handy and there will be plenty of opportunites for work for you there depending on your skill set. I would just suggest seeing as much of that part of the world as you can while there as it is a lot cheaper to do it from Japan than going back from the US. Getting to Hong Kong, Singapore, Guam, S, Korea is a must while there.

Lemonade Nate...You will love Japan. Think of it as an adventure. The baby will be fine with the military docs and staff. Just think, a whole new culture to explore

Just FYI, I will definitely NOT be purchasing any cigars in Japan, lol. Although they sell mainly Cubans, the price of all tobacco is controlled by the government and discount is illegal. The prices are the same everywhere in the country by law, and what they charge is INSANE. Here are some prices as of March of last year (they're worse now):

* Cohiba Siglo VI 3800 JPY ($38.75)
* Montecristo No. 2 2,200 JPY ($22.43)
* Bolivar Gold Medal 2,500 JPY ($25.49)
* Juan Lopez Petit Corona 1,100 JPY ($11.21)
* Romeo y Julieta Churchills 2,700 JPY ($27.53)

wonder if you can buy online from hk?
Ordering products that are banned by US law is rather problematic when living on a military base. So that won't be happening.

I looked at the USPS regulations, and you're not supposed to ship cigars to an APO in Japan ... but I don't think you're supposed to here either, lol.
