Tried a few Gurkhas, only really liked the Ancient Warrior. RPs arent too bad, only like the '92s and decades. Have a few of the '92 mini perfectos that I smoke once in a while when I want a real quick smoke.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a prick or anything (I reread my post and it sounded that way even to me, lol), so I'm sorry if I annoyed anybody. But I do think that there is more "elitist" peer-pressure here than there was back when I joined. Talking about sticks you love is great, and of course it's fine to mention those you dislike--but there is a line somewhere that was crossed making certian sticks "uncool." Or at least that's been my impression lately. Like Dave, if I could afford to smoke LP#9s, PANs, Anejos, Tats, and Illusiones everyday I would, but I smoke too much to do that :)

I used to smoke a ton of RPs, I don't smoke as many anymore since I've fallen in love with Nicaraguan tobacco (though Rocky uses Nic tobacco in many of his sticks). Discernment must be made, as Rocky Patel is a COMPANY and not just a blender, and many of the sticks that come out with his company name were never touched by him in thought or deed. Not that this is always bad--the RP Fusion is a stick that I absolutely love with some age on it, and AJ Fernadez blended that.

I did enjoy the old 1992 torpedo when it first came out. The RP decade lancero isn't half bad either. Honestly I've never had a Gurkha based on a lot of the comments generated on different boards. There are so many other good cigars out there right now I haven't given them a shot.

I like the ITC 10th, Winter, & Spring. The Gurkha Black Dragon & Triple Ligero were also surprisingly good.

P.S. I miss the Vintage 1992 Mini Belicoso's
I like the Gurkha Triple Ligero as well, great stick for the money, as are a number of Gurkhas (cbid and CI money, that is, I'd never pay MSRP for a Gurkha).

I only smoked one but liked the RP Winter blend last year. The Patel Bros is a decent maduro with a Lancaster County, PA wrapper on it.
I'm with Adam on the RP Winter Blend, and I love the RP Edge Corojo Lancero's!

....Just say "NO" to Gurkha!

I've never had a Gurhka!

As far as RP's... I have had some mini-cigars. Not too terrible. I have a couple sitting in my humi that I was gifted. Haven't gotten to them, yet.
Yeah ditto - never had a Gurhka - I think it's the guy with the knife that puts me off. I've yet to find a cigar I want to marry ~:0)

The RP Vintage 1999 is one of my favorite cigars and I have enjoyed just about all other RP's I have tried.

Gurkha, is alright but there is only one or two I enjoy

I like some of the RP line, liked the decades, but fusion is good didn't do it for me, and only have tried the Gurkha Centurion which i liked. I think the problem both of these lines have is that there are too many Lines. many people try one RP line don't like it so never bother trying anything else. And gurkha MSRP are just to high. I'd like to try more of there line but just a bit pricey to take a shot. Me personally i'll give a cigar two try's before writing them off. Just remember the old addage.

"smoke what you like, try different things, everything else is commentary"

I like a couple lines that I've tried and have from Gurkha.i.e. Centurion, Regents, Royal brigade. The Rp 90s are nice too. I've got plenty of both brands so don't need more but to answer the thread...Yes I do like them. Nothing wrong with some variety if they are good, quality smokes.
