Rumor Mill Squashed

So, after spending another week @ My Father Cigars with Jose and the crew (Pete/Jamie/Janny) I felt it necessary to make a statement about a rumor that has been circling around recently, whether you have heard it or not. About (2) weeks before I went on the trip with Pete and the guys from BOTL, I heard that Nestor Miranda was going to buy out Pepin and/or become one... not sure exact specifics, but had heard this more than once.

Again, after spending some additional time with the My Father Cigars family, this couldn't be further from the truth. From what I gather, this has never been mentioned or even brought up... and if ANYTHING were to ever happen, it would be more along the lines of My Father Cigars and Tatuaje in a relationship, IMO.

Just thought I would relay this...in an attempt to squash the nonsense.

Someone is also giving the impression that the La Verite is canceled, as in it won't be released this year or ever... but considering the fact that 2008 has already been aged and 2009 has been blended... I didn't think it was likely.

Did you make the decision on the monsters yet? I know a bunch of people would still like to see it happen.

Edit: If that is the case, I'll help you get rid of some of that excess inventory, haha

La Verite is not canceled in the least, the only thing that has changed is the futures idea.

We were able to catch a sneak peak at the boxes and master cabs while we were in Esteli and they were glorious.

Not only is the 2008 coming out, the 2009 is already blended and in the works.

This is coming, so get ready.

Pepin calls Pete his son... and he is treated like family. There is a bond there stronger than bussiness IMO.

I heard this rumor way back. I thought the agreement that Nestor and Pepin had was that Pepin wouldn't sell and Nestor wouldn't ask.

Some--who were not on the trip-- posted (not here) about a buyout...the real rumor was centered around La Aurora buying Pepin...when in fact it was simply that Pepin liked La Aurora's tobacco and was buying some. (He is using it for the Nestor Dominicana). Amazing how rumors start. However Pete selling to La Aurora is fact.(heh)
