In class, the teacher was talking about Martin Heidegger (German) and talking about his beliefs; We are thrown out to this world, we don't choose to come to this world. That we start life on earth in a very traumatic way; we're born, we get hit on the a$$, there's bright lights, etc., from being in a warm, comfterable place.

Now, one of the things he used to say was: We must accept the way things are.

Then our teacher asked us: If you where to die, how would you die? Considering your year round routine.

(You guy's can comment or also answer the question)
I said...
Well, I think mine can go multiple ways.
1st, Considering that I do travel by airplane every summer and sometimes winter, the airplane could be hijacked and I can die right there if there's something not done the right way.
2nd, Now that I drive, the possibility now exists that I can die in a car crash.
3rd, Some type of cancer, don't ask why, but I just get that idea in my head sometimes for some reason.
4th, A heart attack... I've had insomnia for about more than 6 months and stress. I go to the acupuncture every three weeks because after that, I get insomnia again.
5th, perhaps from something in my brain... today for the first time I said to my class room that I get pinches in my head and I've never told my mom because I didn't think it was anything until my teacher asked me "How long have you had them?" and well, I realized that's it's been more than 5 years.

Not trying to get anyone scared, it just, amazed me of how many people actually think about it, well, at least in my class room we did.
There was a girl in class that said that she hates leaving her house after yelling at her mom horrible things because sometimes she thinks that either she can die or her mom can die that day, having that last image of your daughter yelling at you or yelling at your mom horrible things.

It just really spins the wheal. It is horrible. My last image of someone that I haven't seen since was sadness in their face and me being pissed off that I couldn't accept that error's like that (I won't specific what) could happen to anyone. I wish that I can soon change that image and if I can't, then I'll have to accept it and let it be.

I used to love philosophy class... gets your mind going on so many different tangents.

as to the question at hand...

you'll take my life but I'll take yours too!
you'll fire musket but I'll run you through!
so while you're waiting for the next attack!
you'd better stand there's no turning back!

if I had my choice this is how I'd go... from Iron Maiden's The Trooper.

Now, you should read Shopenhauer, followed in short order by Nietzsche.

Very life affirming stuff. (I'm dead serious)

Ask your prof what MH meant when discussing the wellspring and the work of art and how it is illuminated by the idea of Dasein. It'll be an interesting conversation.

then tell him that Being in Time was entirely too long and undigestable by any normal mind and as such is such bad philosophy that it deserves nothing more than a clean spot on a dusty shelf.

Ah philosophy...such entertaining stuff. Realistically there are so many ways to go out I wouldn't even know where to begin. I used to wonder though about what it would feel like to have various death scenarios happen to you. Like (for instance) being hit by a car or being beheaded. Not suicidal thoughts, just meditating on what sensations your body would go though. Hmm...philosophy.

Not to worry about that. I've had my head wrapped around that for a while a'ready. Seen it in a few book stores so, I'll be getting it as soon as I'm done with all this reading I have for school.

We are not promised tomorrow and although I always have goals, I try to enjoy the day. Therefore, you may classify me as an optimist. The older we get, the less we let small things upset us. I don't really care for the getting older part; as I have worked my body real hard and now I am paying for it. I hope that my death is not in serious agony for a long period of time. My philosophy is, when it is my time to die, it is my time to die.
When I was younger, I took a lot more risks. I am content today, to smoke good cigars and talk adventures, while trying to help other RVers with technical issues.
I hope to slide into heaven sideways, saying "Whew, what a ride"!

This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't

You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath

On the Radio by Regina Spektor

I think about that question about dying far too much. I see these old men at the cigar shop and sometimes wonder if I will see them again. Their chances of going are higher than mine, but my chance is slowly rising. Then I look at family members lives and my own bad decisions when I was younger and wonder when it will all catch up. I try not to ponder it but because after death is such an unknown it is frightening. Sometimes I wish I was stupid so I didn't care to think about the big questions of life and could just pass through it ignorantly, but I just wonder what life is all about and realize any of us could go at anytime. I am 27 and a kid in my grade was found dead in his home just the other day. It freaks me out.

So to all of you I wish good health and good times for as long as you have!!!!!
