My collection has officially outgrown my 100ct humi, so it"s time to upgrade.
I can't afford to take the leap to a vinotemp, and I wouldn't be able to convince my wife to allow that purchase, so I'm planning on getting a 300ct desktop.

So far I'm considering either. El Diablo on CI

Or the Ravello at budgethumidorsdotcom

Both are available for $110. Does anybody have either of these, or know anything about them?

Also, anybody know of a better deal on price or a better humi in the same price range? I really can't afford to go any higher in price.

keep the 100 count out and tuck away the cooler.
Good answer...it's just a matter of time you will fill the 300 ct. also. I wish I would have done the exact same thing before I bought my 2nd and 3rd 100 ct. The cooler actually works better anyway.

i still have my nice small humidor on display for guests...but along the lines of collecting and getting more sticks, i built my collection out of my basement with coolidors and moved up from there. truth is we don't want our entire collection for someone to rummage through. coolidors are inconspicuous, cheap, and keep humidity better than a normal humidor.

i also have a small 30ct humidor "for" guests...the sticks i'm not comfortable letting just anyone smoke.

I was in a similar situation several months ago. The easy short term solution would have been to buy another humi. However I opted for a more permanent solution and after a few months of searching on Craigslist I was able to find a year old 16 bottle Avanti for $50.00 - the seller even delivered it to me! IMHO hold out for what you truly want - and figure out a way to get it done. Maybe you can sell some of the stuff you don't use or need anymore on ebay - and turn the proceeds into something you want and need.

Good Luck-

It's not a bad humidor - my brother has it. FYI - there is no way it holds 300 cigars (maybe half that).

I have a 'Heritage' 150 count - love it, but I also use a few large coolers for boxes & a smaller cooler for pipe tobacco... I'm not buying anything fancy for storage until I can justify spending on (or building) a large cabinet.

I dont have it but always wanted one that style. Of course I have since decided to just skip that step and move to the wine cooler. I saw it at cigars international, my buddy was checking it out for himself and like AJ said, there is no way that is will hold 300 smokes, I figure 120-150 depending on size.

My opinion, go with a cooler. If you wanted to get rid of the 100ct and you need the thing to look good, look into foot lockers. They are a lot bigger than what you are looking at, not as flashy but better looking than a coleman.

i have to agree go with a cooler, had filled my two humis and was gonna buy a third but opted for a more economical solution. I Also recomend looking on craigslist for deals. Just always seems that you need more room than you think youll need.

Try this, for the price it looks pretty good and will hold more too!

I'm going to third this. Also, Lock n' Locks are a great alternative to igloos. They keep humidity very stable. Just throw some cedar in there and you're golden.

Put all your nicest sticks in the 100 ct. and use it as your "show" humidor for guests etc.

Take the money you save and get some more smokes!

Unless you're going to pony up and pay out the cash for a big cabinet humidor, coolers are the most economical and easiest way to go. I started with a 150 ct desktop and when it was getting full I heeded this same advice from several brothers and went the cooler direction. Started with a 48qt and when it started getting close to the point of being full I decided to go bigger and started a 120qt cooler. Since then I have the 48qt full, four 120qt coolers full and I'm working on the fifth 120qt cooler now. They are easy to set up and use, and work great.

I still have plans to purchase a custom Aristocrat MXT one of these days to mainly store boxes that are intended to sit and age, but I'll probably always be reaching into a cooler to grab my daily smoke!
