A BOTL on another forum noticed this is not thermoelectric but uses superconductor technology, does anyone know if that will work for a humidor?

Hey! that is the exact one I bought two weeks ago and am airing out.
I wanted it now, so I didnt have it shipped and I couldnt do the in store pickup at that price. So I paid $199 total then the $35 rebate making it $165 total for me, which I think is still pretty good.

I bought one of these right after Larry posted the link. It arrived yesterday; dented, dinged and the top of the door cracked. Plugged it in and it just stared at me (deader-than-a-door-nail) so its back in the box and on its way back to PC Richards. I don't blame them, it's pretty obvious the thing was man-handled by the shipper all the way from New York to CA.

I found this one at Walmart, ships from within the state so hopefully it will not get dropped as many times.

Snooper, sorry to hear that it arrived in such bad shape my friend, but glad to hear you found that Avanti at WalMart and that looks like a pretty damn good price too!

Hope these get restocked soon! I'm thinking I may buy two or three when I get back from my deployment, if anyone else finds a good deal on these let me know.

Yea, the poor thing looked like they dropped it on its top. The nice thing is, with Walmart having a shipping depot in southern ca, Fedex says I should have the new one today, so I can spend the weekend getting the smell out and get it ready for its new life in my mancave.

According to the weatherman we are to expect 100+ days for the near future, so I need me a wineador!!

Thanks to all of you who have pioneered the way for those of us just getting into the wine cooler/humidor swing of things. Lots of ground has already been plowed, making it pretty easy for us who are late to the party!

Superconductor technology! I wonder if we could morph one into a maglev train or something!

Are you sure you have your phrase correct? Never heard of superconductor technology for cheap consumer goods.
