It's about time that I upgrade to a larger cooler (I'm currently using a 25qt. cooler.) I've read on here that the Coleman Extreme has some problems keeping humidity. What brands/models are you using, and are you happy with it?

I agree with the Coleman Extreme comment. I hear Igloos work very well. When you go searching for one, bring a piece of paper. Close the paper in the lid, if you can pull it out easily, then the seal is no good. Make sure you do the test on all sides.

I did this with my current cooler with very good results. I was looking online to save a bit of money so I likely won't be able to test it.

Point taken... but you can always shop in stores, find the one you want and buy online

From a website for the 70 qt. Coleman xtreme (not recommended, but still a 70 qt)- 24" x 9.75" x 12.75"
Ah, I was hoping to find a cooler that would fit the standard cedar trays like this:

Any ideas (w/o cutting the trays)?

There is one igloo I've seen in stores called the Ice Cube. It is a 60 qt. for $27.

Info from: Here
Inside dimensions:
13 1/2" Long, 15 3/4" Wide by 16 1/2" Deep/Height

There's 3" Long, across the 15 3/4" width, By 2" Deep Height that you loose due to the wheel hump.

I will check tonight to make sure but I have a white Coleman 120qt cooler with two large rectangles of beads and have no problems. I keep it in the basement as it's cooler in the summer. Sadly, I am almost out of room. On the positive side I no longer have a wife to nag me about too many cigars so I could buy another one, lol.

I think I have a 150 qt igloo... don't quote me on the brand though. Look for the ones that are rated to keep ice frozen for a long time. They should be pretty airtight.

Igloo 38qt

I have 3 cigar boxes and a stick of RH beads in it. I really should get a hydrometer. God knows what it is like in there I just burp it every couple weeks and put water in the beads every now and then.

I have four of these 120 qt Igloo coolers. I have had these set up for years and currently have a pound of beads in each. Three of them are full of boxes packed as tight as you could get them. The fourth has four cedar trays stacked on one end and the rest is all bundles and singles that are in fiver bags and gallon ziplocs with some cedar planks thrown in for good measure. It is also packed to the gills and the last time I inventoried it, basically just looking for something to do, there was around 750 cigars in that cooler. They have all always held the humidity steady and I only add water to the beads probably once every 1-1 1/2 months. When you get one loaded up and everything is at 65-70% humidity, there is enough humidity in all of the cigars and boxes that it really doesn't fluctuate much at all.

Justin the Igloo cooler linked above that I have has inside dimensions of 34.5" long and 13.5" wide. If you are talking about these as standard Cedar Trays, they fit perfectly as your diagram shows. The one I have with trays has four of these trays stacked on one end exactly like your diagram shows. You could stack them five high and could actually have four rows of five trays if you wanted to, giving you 20 trays in one of these coolers if you were so inclined to set the cooler up that way..

How do all these different qt sizes translate into approximate cigar capacity? (Assuming they have trays in them)
The trays I have as described and linked above, which are pretty much the standard cedar trays that you will find at most online retailers that carry them, will hold approx 30-32 cigars with a 50 ring gauge or around approx 36-38 cigars with a 42 ring gauge for a general reference. Without knowing what the exact inside dimensions are on all of the other different size coolers I couldn't state an accurate count for those coolers. The 120 qt Igloo coolers that I have though, if they were completely full of trays, which would be 20 trays would hold approx 600-640 cigars of 50 ring gauge or 720-760 cigars of 42 ring gauge generally speaking.

Awesome! Thanks, those are the right trays, when Ilooked them up quickly yesterday I found a link to trays that were 14.5" long not 12.5". The 12.5" trays you linked are the ones I have. Thanks info bro, I will be getting something similar if not the exact cooler you linked!
