Yea the basement is the way to go if it's not a PITA to move all your cigars down there.

That's me, I'm too damn lazy to walk downstairs every time I want to smoke a cigar....one humi in the living room and the cabinet in my office, both on the main floor in my house!

You know a guy.... Yeah right Brian! *lol*

Eric it's funny you should mention that My office is like that it holds a very steady Rh... and i've been tempted to leave some singles out for a few days just to see what happens

I know a guy who has a whole room that is that way. He stores all his boxes in there with a separate room AC and a humidifier.

Went to a buddy's place on the water in Malibu. He had an unopened box of Monte #2s sitting out. I asked him about them and he said they had been sitting there for two years. We smoked one. They smoked perfect.

I just check current conditions in Chatsworth, CA 65.1°F/Humidity: 63%. What did I spend all this money for? lol Oh wait...it gets 110°F in the summer.

Unfortunately I get to tease you guys in the cold winter but it's your turn to fire back. It'll be 107* this weekend. No chance in hell (Literally) of me keeping my cigars in a room like that here. I've been very lucky though, never had bugs in the humi even though it's about impossible to get it below 76 degrees in the summer.

you need to get a wine fridge. maybe you can encase it in some really nice woodwork.

I would love to have basement again! I grew up in NJ and now live out in CA and they don't make houses with them out here. Time to invest in wine fridges!

My basement is the same way. In fact, I keep all my cigars in cigars boxes in a huge rubbermaid container with no humidification device and it stays around 60%rh and 65F
Living in Kansas, a basement is good for more than just hiding from Tornados!!!

Amen, Travis. If it weren't for my basement, my cigars would be cooked!

I have been in the works of building a smoking room, and walk in humidor in my new home. It will be in my walk out basement. The room is going to be 15x12 in the corner of my basement.
