Padron is a good quality smoke and can never go wrong choosing one. got a couple in the humi aging to see how they develop. I think every smokers pallete changes with time. What you love today may just be okay tomorrow and there is nothing wrong with that. when i started thought the AF chataue line was the best thing out there, then Perdomo, then Oliva. Now I'm starting to try and liking Alec Bradley line. so remember what makes a cigar great is your enjoyment of it.

As a newbie it is interesting following this thread. It sounds to me that your palette is just evolving as your experience grows. I remember my first russian imperial stout; it was monumental, and like you said, I still like it. But it is not the horn-blower I once thought it was.
The other thing that I appreciate when people share stuff like this is that it pushes me to try new stuff. In restaurants, cigars, movies, authors, I can get in a rut. I wish I was more courageous to try more stuff more often. :sing:

I've had a 64' and it was excellent. I have a 26' rest and can't wait to try it. But I do agree, there are plenty of smokes out there that can sway your decision of a 'favorite' no matter how much you previously enjoyed it.
I gotta try a Diesel...would probably be good while driving the truck...lol. Seriously, i do wanna try one.

Padron is top notch brother! I think your pallet just got burnt out from smoking them to much. I have to be honest and say this has happened to me as well when I first started smoking cigars on a daily basis. Now I have alot of cigars that are just sitting in my humi.
I really think our Taste Profile changes quite frequently thus leaving us bored with smokes we used to love. I try to rotate my cigars daily for this not to happen anymore and so far it's working. As far as the sticks I first started out on...I will light one up atleast once every two weeks to revisit.

x000 series is just a regular everyday cigar. I know this has probably been mentioned but the x000 and anny series are not even close to comparable.. Try a 45th M, 80th M, or any of the others and then come back into this thread and say Padron isnt a GREAT "special" smoke.
the X000 series has such a great price point for the quality and flavor of the smoke. I could smoke 2000 maddies all day.
Most of my favorite cigars are just the everyday smoke. Although your palette matures and evolves, to find that smoke that you can smoke everyday w/o it getting old is important as that special occasion smoke. (IMO)
I'd admit that even I have taken a break from smoking these to explore others, it's still an awesome smoke to go back to. Padron never fails to deliver, especially after a little bit of rest.

My favorite desert island poll was the one that asked whether you'd rather have a steady supply of your favorite stick or new things to try every day. I picked option 2.
I think Padron still makes some of my favorite high end / special occasion sticks. 45 Maddie is awesome, 1926 series is awesome, and the 64 maddie principe is one of my favorite short smokes. For everyday smokes I love some of the DPG samplers that CI's always got good pricing on.
Those're my favorites right now, anyway. Ask me again in a few days.

Allz I know is that I've got some 6000's from 2004 that are absolutely delicious! I've had a couple of higher end Padron's that disappointed me only due to consistency issues. Like one 45th not smoking exactly the same as another. But for the most part...a Padron never let's you down and they're one of my favorites.
Having a wide variety of sticks, is how I like to stuff my humi. Sometimes you have the urge to try something new, and as you know they come out with new cigars all the time it'll be a shame to let those uncharted smokes go ignored.

No doubt that Padrons are a really good cigar but our tastes will expand and change. What we used to think was something really good still is but when you get used to something over and over you build up a tolerance to and seek change. We tend to get tired of the same thing so it's normal to want something different. I have about 25 different cigars I like and change from week to week. This keeps things exciting and new all the time. I'd hate to smoke the same cigar week in and week out...that just gets tiring.
