Been drinking IPA's for over a dozen years and prefer DFH nowadays... Just like cigars, everyone has there own taste for things. Does it make us all wrong for liking a certain brand? Will I stop drinking it because you named off a dozen that you like?....wait... don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question.

Plus I get 25oz mugs of it for 6 bucks and get to watch hot ladies pour it for me, which really doesn't suck!
Oh man, you just made me realize that I've been nerding out on beer for almost a decade-and-a-half. Oh man, I feel old.

That aside...
So no, it doesn't make you wrong to express an opinion that is not the same as another person's opinion, but think about it like this: If you were reading a beer forum and a guy showed up singing the praises of your standard R y J's and your run of the mill Fonsecas, wouldn't you think to yourself that this hypothetical guy may need his horizons broadened? It isn't that they are BAD smokes, but you know in your heart-of-hearts that there is more that the cigar industry has to offer... Being the beer nerd that I am (and only having begun my exploration of the cigar universe), it kills me to read people talking about pair some of these fabulous cigars with the likes of Blue Moon or Stella... it doesn't mean they are "wrong," but just that they may be missing out on other experiences/flavors/etc...

...And don't get me wrong, I would drink the DFH 90min if it were the only IPA available and I felt like an IPA. I'm not here trying to call it swill, or piss; however, I am of the not-so-humble opinion that Beerland has more balanced IPAs to offer someone. If I were this kid and I was going to hole myself up in Minnesota for the next 9 months, I would take something other than 90 minute.

Favorite IPAs? Maybe I am just spoiled out here in IPA-land, but I can think of dozens of IPAs that I like better than DFH 90 Min: Green Flash West Coast and Imperial IPA, both the Russian River Plinys, Ballast Point Sculpin, Alpine Pure Hoppiness & Exponetial Hoppiness, Coronado Idiot, Bear Rep Racer 5, Drakes Denogginizer... I could go on forever.

Curious question: Was DFH 90min one of the first IPAs you had and liked? My buddies and I (who all work at beer bars out here) have a hypothesis that ones' preferences are partially effected by the timing in which you first encountered a beer or style of beer.

Have you tried DFH Sahtea? That is a seriously good brew... (sorry, way off topic here.)
I enjoy most anything hoppy. The beer selection around here sucks. There's a couple of good bars and I try something new every time, but for readily available beer and I want a good IPA, I'm gonna pick up DFH from the HEB down the road. The liquor stores and bars around here do not cater to beer drinkers unless you drink the domestics. Texas drives me nuts about that.

Feel free to hit me up with any broadening suggestions that you might have via PM or otherwise. I'm open to learning more. It's just that the bars around here don't carry many IPAs; So when I'm out, I'm looking for an IPA that I like and DFH is usually available even if others like bear racer, stone, Victory, etc breweries aren't available for me to choose from.

I burned that the day after I got it. It had some cracking issues but I just took my time with it.
Darn. I feel bad about that. If I ever get my paws on another one, I will be sure to send it your way so you can try one that isn't falling apart.

And thanks for all the suggestions fellas

I'mma have to figure out how to ship beer to Texas for you, man!
You totally don't need to send anything like that (just some brands and beers to look for would be awesome), but of course from what I've seen earlier in this thread it's usually futile to mention that. ;)

Okay, I got a smart ass voicemail from dprice tonight, I'll admit... I am a DFH whore and the BB chat guys will confirm this. For a long time I didn't drink at all, but have a taste for DFH lately and extremely hot chicks in short skirts who serve it to me(just ask L8A, Crypto Sailor, Dmitri C or dlavallee).

All that said, somebody pm me this young buck college kid OP's addy and I will send him a few treats to make his semester a little more enjoyable!

Btw, first week of classes ended today and every class and prof is kick-ass! I feel lucky to go to a top 10 school in my area of interest. I should be rich in no time; the social work profession is like that.

Maybe I will serve only BOTL and barter my fees! :headroll:
