Dirty 30 (traveling with cigars)

Hello brothers, in a little over a month I will be turning 30! not only that, it's my golden bday. We have a vaca planned for the carribean and i wanted some of your opinions of what to bring. I have a 5 capacity herfador/cigar caddy. Right now, here is what i am thinking of bringing:

Casa Fuente
Opus X chateau
Anejo (dont know which one yet)
PSD4
Boli RC

Do you guys have any other suggestions? Thanks.

My suggestion is pick up a bigger travel humidor so you can bring more than 5!

Yeah dude, get at least a 10 stick. But I guess if your going for 5 days, and figure on a smoke after dinner every night, after playing all day, 5 would be enough. But you'll be bummed, of you meet a fellow smoker and don't have something to give him to smoke. Or if you find a lazy day on the lanai, be a shame not to have an extra smoke. You can always bring them back with you.

Do not buy Cuban Cigars unless you are at a La Casa Del Habano. you will get fakes at any tourist destination.

when traveling, do you bring a punch or anything to cut your cigar? i know according to TSA, you cant bring cutters, but how do you cut/punch your cigar once youre at your destination?

I've always put the cutter in my checked baggage and have never had problems.

I don't know if this is the norm, but I just traveled last weekend with a punch and a guillotine in my carry on with no problems. The punch got examined on the way back, but was let through with no problems.

I'd suggest throwing a cheapie guillotine and/or a punch in your bag and you should be fine.

Scissors - metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than four inches are acceptable.

so maybe i can bring my trusty MTX. nah, i dont wanna risk it. I'll just bring the cheapo guillotine.

I fly with a cutter in my pocket and a box of matches. Never had a problem.

The lighter is more of a headache than the cutter with the TSA these days.

5 sticks?? That's a road trip.

10 sticks? That's an overnight trip.

Now, when you have to pack for those "extended" vacations, I suggest you get the appropriate sized travel-dor...

That way you ALWAYS have the right size for the trip!!!

i think i'll add a drac to the list above, along with a padron 1926 and some 7th reservas. I dont have any viaje's or ever had one, maybe i should check into that option. thanks, bro.

I just lost a lighter on a flight to denver. No combustible liquids in checked or carried baggage. But, I think I pissed the guy off by not placing my laptop just the way he wanted it in the xray machine and he had to re-run my stuff. Either that or he just wanted a free lighter.

what brand was the lighter, and was it a torch lighter? cuz the site specifically says NO torch lighters. If it was a st. dupont, i would want it too.

I had a lotus torch in my checked baggage most recently. I don't think it was empty either, though I know it was on the low end of fuel.
