Never really used to like lanceros - until I tried the Oliva V. Had to buy a box. I've since enjoyed lanceros by LFD & JdN too.

Try the Nestor Miranda Mi Domincana Lancero, and the La Aurora 100anos lancero (if you can find it). There is also a special release of lanceros from La Aroma De Cuba and San Cristobal come 4ea to a box. Also the Kristoff Lancero isn't bad.

The Viaje Platino Lancero is one of my new favs!
I've been meaning to bet back to my local that has the Platinos in stock and seeing if they have any of those. The Holy Lance is also on my to-buy list.

I really enjoyed the JdN Anejo 1970 lancero I had. Spent so long buying only robustos that I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did.

This is probably splitting hairs but one thing I noticed about the Pepin Lancero sampler is that those are more of a Lonsdale/Corona Larga size than a true Long Panatela (Lancero). They're something like 6 7/8 x 42. These are all terrific sticks but I found it odd that they were labelled as "Lanceros".

Another killer non-traditional Lancero would be the Hirsh y Garcia.

I eventually got over the stigma of smoking a long, thin cigar. It was robustos and up until I had my first Oliva Lancero. I'm aging an ET OR at the moment, but this thread may have just cut process down by a few days...

Definitely splitting hairs... it is a great sampler and many of those blends aren't available in that Lanceroish size. It's not uncommon to see variances in size being called the same thing by different companies(ie Punch and Montecristo Rothschilds). I suspect Pepin was playing a bit on the Lancero craze and decided it was better to market them as that than Lonsdale. Either way it is a damn good sampler!

I love pepin smokes, but the Lanceros are too FAT. they are almost like skinny churchills. I wish they had a lancero in the same RG as the DPG Black La Perla.

As far as I know, there's no such thing as a Hemingway lancero. The only Casa Fuente exclusives (or semi-exclusives) are the Forbidden X Lancero, the house brand lancero, and the Don Carlos Lancero....

The Oliva V lancero is what got me liking them. The LFD DL's are great, as a;; the Pepins and Tats. Give the CAO LX2 a try, great smoke.
