I would recommend waiting to find one of the 'Journey' boxes on $100 deal (sometimes at Famous' cigar monster). The Opus 22 sets can sometimes be found cheaply or for individual sale (but rarely).

There used to be a reference site out there on all the Fuente stuff and I could have swore I read that the Forbidden X is the exact same as the regular Opus X stuff.
I would love to see that, I hear rumors and stuff all the time some proof would sure go a long way to settling things.

I love a well aged opus and am liking them better all the time so I would love this if you run across it or any other info pertaining to blends versus rumors.

Some are, and some may not be...for example, the Forbidden X Chili Pepper and BBMF Natural that is sold at Casa Fuente is the exact same cigar as the Regular Opus X, just with a different band...

The Forbidden X is mostly used to differentiate non-reg release vitolas in the Opus X brand...While nobody knows for absolute sure, the general consensus is that MOST of the Forbidden X branded cigars are the exact same blend as Opus X...

The Lost City cigars ARE a different blend then the Regular Opus X (except for the Lancero and Love Affair of that line, which are normal Opus X blend with a Lost City Band on them)...

Hope that helps!

From the Opus X I have smoked, I'd have to say I definetly want to try one Ben. They are a little on the expensive side, but hey its nice to treat ones self, once in awhile.

Smoked my only Lost City the other day and I think it was much better than a regular Opus. Pricey as hell, but I wish I had picked up a 5er when I had the cash.

Miles to go before I sleep ...
I bought the 2008 Journey To Chateau De La Fuente Box. I know it was a Lost City- I'm not sure which one though. I'll have to check in a bit.
I have the same 2008 Journey to Chateau de la Fuente box (brown) and it came with the following:

Brown Box:

2 Fuente Fuente Opus X Scorpio, 2005
1 Fuente Fuente Forbidden X, Toro 2004
1 Don Carlos Edicion de Aniversario, Double Robusto 2006

If you were lucky enough to get a Black Box then the contents are as follows:

4 Fuente Fuente Forbidden X, Toro 2004

Additionally, I'm glad to hear everyone speaking so highly of the DC Edicion de Aniversario ... makes me even more excited to smoke mine!

Interesting, I could have sworn it said "Lost City" on the box. I will have to look again as I may have been imagining things.

I am assuming that Lost City and Forbidden are different, am I wrong?

Correct, the Lost City blend was made with tobacco that was planted out of the "Normal" season, the Forbidden (as explained above) is just a regular Opus X with a different band (for the most part)...

As far as I know, there are no Lost City cigars released in any of the Chateau De La Fuente Boxes.
