I know that these are supposed to be available in April, but has anybody had a chance to try one. I guess they were handed out yesterday evening and I am rather surprised I haven't much about them.

I like 60 RG when it's more of a Nub size (3.5-4" long).

6x60 is just too huge.

Now...6x46? Then we'd have a deal.

Eh. Whats with these 6x60 cigars. I don't go bigger than a Robusto usually.

Yeah I don't get it either.

Two trends in cigar making today that really don't appeal to me:

-make it as big as possible

-make it as strong as possible, even if it means sacrificing flavour

Like I said, I don't mind a 60 RG on some shorter cigars. I quite enjoy Nubs, and I'm really interested in trying the new Torano cigar, Fortress, which is exclusively large RG's.

But it seems nearly every company has lines of 6x60's (sometimes called "double toros") and those just don't appeal.

Let alone the Rolando Reyes Pirate's Gold brand, where you can get crazy stuff like 10x64's or whatever. Like...why??

Known about these for months now and my reaction after seeing them is the same as when I first heard about them. At that size it's a pass!

I agree, too big but its an industry trend. A number of highly praised manufacturers seem to be leaning this way as of late, perhaps the idea is more bang for your buck? I'm not sure.

I just want to know who they're selling all these monsters too.

I mean, it doesn't seem to be a trend that came and went (or is on its way out)...which means people are buying them, right?

All I can think is that there's SO MUCH TOBACCO being used in these enormous cigars, and it seems like kind of a waste. The amount of tobacco you need to make a single 6x60 cigar could probably make three smaller cigars.

From my understanding they are at Smoke Inn exclusive and they are supposed to be part of the Family Reserve line. I am a bit concerned about the ring size and length, but a twitter picture I saw seemed to show a different (shorter) size.

I still haven't tried a Family Reserve series cigar from Padron, but I have had some from both the 1926 and 1964 lines (and x000 of course) as I try to stick with the robusto sized sticks as well. I may pick up a couple of Family Reserve 46 to try, but I want to make sure that I have the time to enjoy them.

I do enjoy Nubs. I'm a fast smoker and with a wide ring gauge you can go to town on them bad boys. But 6" is way to long for a cigar that fat.

I like the Nub torpedo's, otherwise its a bit wide at the cap.
