So, I am a huge fan of the NUB cigars (Particularly the Cameroon and Habano), but I've noticed a trend of people disliking them... Some cite the taste as lacking, or the construction/burn as an issue... some just don't like the size... I get it, everyone has their own thing. I, however, LOVE these cigars. I am a huge fan of 56-64 RG cigars, I love how cool they burn, and something about the size always tastes better for me (Innuendo begone!) I usually have difficulty nubbing a cigar for the heat and the sour taste, yet I've never had a NUB that I didn't burn my fingers on.

I have yet to try one of the Cain NUBs, but I have a Habano one sitting in the Humi waiting for its turn.

So... Enough rambling from me. Anyone else nubbin' the NUBs? :cbig:

I love the Oliva Brand, and they have done a great job with the NUB line. The marketing worked well, and the cigars backed that up with quality construction and flavor. The Habano is hands down the best. I have had a few and have kept a few in the humi for a while. The size is so far from my go to sizes, that they just sit there like the short fat girl at the dance. I don't smoke them because of the size, over 50, and it becaomes a decoration in my humidor.

I have tried them all, I say the Maduro is the better of them. But I tend to smoke more fuller bodied cigars so they just don't do it for me. They are not bad just not my go to. Also another smoke to try in the same size family would be the LFD 452.

Enjoy

Decoration?

Waste of a good cigar :shame:
Nah, they will sit there and age until someone comes over and wants to smoke it. NOw the huge blunt I rolled out of an Opus Super Belicoso, may be considered a waste of a god cigar, but I was commissioned to do the work, since I am a master roller in my own right.

I agree, I love NUB. The Cameroon in the 358 is still one of my favorite cigars.
I wish they would do a sumatra blend....
Ooh, sumatra would be nice

Nub Oscuro? I'd love that...

Better yet, and this is just me BSing here, What if there was a Nub/LP mixer? (Yeah, I know, that's pretty much what the Flying Pig is, but I'm speaking other blends. I'd kill for a 460 or 464 of the Dirty Rat)

I like 'em. The Maduro is my favorite, though the Habano is a pretty close second. Not a fan of the Connecticut, but then I'm not very impressed with most cigars featuring that wrapper. The Cameroon is so so in my opinion. I haven't had the Cain Nubs yet, but I have a few in my humidor that I just haven't gotten to yet.

I think most people's avoidance of the cigar is due to the ring gauge. Quite a few people are put off by anything above a 50. In my opinion they are missing out on some good cigars, but if that's what they like, that's what they like. Plus it means more for me .

As for them adding any new cigars to the line up...I'm not sure what the split between Sam Leccia and Oliva means for the line, but I would also like to see a Sumatra blend.

I really like Nubs!

The Connecticut is quite a nice Connie, and the Maduro is great too.

I have yet to try the Habano and Cameroon blends. I have a few resting in my humi.

I know that NUBs are now being done without Sam, they're being done by a specific "task force" within Oliva called "Studio Tobac" (they're also taking over CAIN cigars). Oliva owns both Cain and Nub, they were just thought up by Sam Leccia... So Oliva is running the standard fare, and Studio Tobac will be their "new stuff" department.

Also, I hear that the Cain F is now a NUB, so I have to get my hands on that, and the Cain Maduro NUB, along with the Connecticut.

I think they're okay smokes. I had the Connie and the Habano. The flavors of the Habano were damn good, the connie was meh...
I don't really like the short, fat smokes. Probably the biggest turn off for me

I like the NUBs. I don't smoke them a lot but they are a nice change of pace once in awhile. Haven't had a Cain NUB yet but will get on it eventually.

I've gotten the impression that the Cain line is very much a "strength first, flavour second" line of sticks.

Which really doesn't appeal to me.

I've read reviews that say the flavour doesn't get any deeper or more complex than "tastes like tobacco".
