A friend of my was smoking this La Verti a few weeks ago at Centro Cigars and I am know getting the pics posted. I think the pics prove that Pete and Don Pepin know what they are doing. this is a Churchill size La Verti and it was only smoked about an inch and a half into the cigar. It had not been ashed.

Yes very frustrating cigar. Wrapper blows up on this cigar for me. Never had an issue like this with any other cigar. It really pisses me off for such an expensive cigar.

I love these cigars but man what a pain. I spent close to $100 on these when they first came out. traded two smoked two still have one in the humi. Both of mine cracked. I still smoked them but it completely threw of the zen I know this cigar can bring.
I have had alot if wrapper issues with others as well...mainly in the Brown Bands in the Tat line. if it doesn't crack it flakes elswhere on the stick. very dissapointing when it happens.

Keeping the humi at 63% to 65% has helped me out greatly!
I probably smoke more Pepin made cigars than the average smoker, actually, most time I smoke Pepin made, and I barely ever get a cracked wrapper, or one that splits while smoking. As a matter of fact, over the last couple year, I've only had a hand full of cigars split on me (all manufacturers)
I don't ever have problems with any of his stuff using broadleaf wrapper, but the stuff using corojo, I seem have wrapper issues on half of them. The reason he started putting his cigars in cello is because they were getting so many cigars returned with wrapper damage from shipping. With that said, it doesn't stop me from smoking them, and loving his cigars. :awholelot
And I've tried dry boxing them, smoking them slow, dampening the wrapper, etc. and still have problems with them. The Bad to the Bone cigar he did for the Outlaw back in 2007/8 was amazing, but I don't know that I've ever seen one that didn't blow out the wrapper at some point during smoking.

But, even a crappy cigar can sport a solid ash...Humidity in the room, storage RH, etc.
I have only smoked 2 of mine, and had no issues...Nice smoke, IMHO.

Here lately I have had a couple of really good cigars where the ash looked flaky though it didn't fall off unintentionally. I never judge by an ash but being able to do that with that size of cigar is very cool. Thanks for the pic. Hope to visit Centro soon. On my list of things to do. I just picked up one of these cigars this week in a trade.
