All right you NFL Guys. It's getting close to draft day

So what position does your team need help at? Who have you heard that they may be interested in? And of those guys, who do you hope they land?

The Hawks need help at

QB, OL and a Speed WR on offence

On Defense they need a SS, CB and DL is the rumor.

All that said they may be trading down in the draft as they would like to get a 3rd round pick that they traded away to the Chargers last year for QB Charlie Whitehurst:hanghead:

If they don't trade down they are rumored to be looking at QB. Maybe hometown boy Jake locker out of the UW, or possibly Florida ST QB Christian Ponder or Texas Christian QB Andy Daulton.

On Defense I'm hearing Colorado CB Jimmie Smith may be the pick. But I heard he has some off the field issues.:lookaroun

I've heard a few different DE's mentioned as it's a good year for DE in this years draft. But I'm not sure which one they will select?

Sorrry but I'm not sold on any of those QB's being a true franchise QB. So I feel that they need to go for the CB if Jimmie Smith is there for them. Marcus Trufaunt got burned multiple times and has battles injuries over the last couple of years. Their other starting CB Kelly Jennings shouldn't even be a nickle situation CB as he was burned multiple times over the year. So Jimmie could make an immedeat impact on that defense if he's there for the taking.

for once, the chiefs don't draft early. we've got number 21, so it's going to depend on what position has had a run on it in the early rounds. if there are OL available, we may go that way. we could use a good DL, LB and WR. but there won't be any value there on the first day. expect them to pick these positions up in the later rounds.

My Cowboys need a good nose tackle. Can't stuff the run. Probably another CB to play next to Mike Jenkins. Could use some major help in the OT/OG positions as well. We could also use some help in SS/FS, LB, and kicker positions. Our offense is great if we can just execute which we had trouble doing last year.

Packers need a 3-4 DE (or two!) and another pass rusher opposite Clay Matthews. Other than that we'll probably stock up on O-Linemen, especially tackles. Clifton and Tauscher aren't getting any younger, although the last half of 2010-2011 might be the best Chad Clifton's ever played.

I've given up trying to guess what Ted Thompson's going to do on draft day, though. Every year I try and every year I'm wrong.

The Charlotte Panthers have selected Auburn QB Scam "DeMarcus" Newton with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft....he should end up being a serviceable offensive tackle!!

I know he has injury issues and all but I'm suprised Dequan Bowers didn't get drafted last night.

I remember a few months ago Mel Kiper had him as the No.1 player on his big board.

I expext him to get drafted early in the 2nd round today.

Suprised to see the Falcons give up so much to get Hulio Jones too.

Also the Viks taking Christian Ponder with the 12th overall pick suprised me.

we were surprised to take a WR. figured for sure we'd get the wisc tackle. but haley likes to work with receivers.
think bower's knee must be more of an issue than people want to pay 1st round money for.

There are some not so smart picks in the first round...

AJ Green going 4th... bad pick.
Julio JOnes going 6th... Not a great pick.
Blaine Gabbert going 10th... Should have been in later the 1st round or second.

But my laughable pick was the VIkings picking up Christian Ponder. WTF were they thinking.

Lots of Def and Off lineman, as well as DE and cb...

The smart pick was Locker being picked up.. I like that pick and see him fitting in well into the NFL..

.
This is what they were thinking

Tavaris Jackson's"failures led to a series of short-term replacements that only delayed the inevitable decision to move on.

By the time that point arrived, the Vikings' depth chart looked like this:
1. Yuck
2. Ick
3. Bleah

Actually, it was:
1. Joe Webb
2. Rhett Bomar
3. And that's It."

But Ponder is not the man to lift them up. He was just an ok quarterback. Yeah, I know, look at Aaron Rogers. Not a great quarterback in college, was underrated in the pros and now he has a superbowl ring and MVP trophy.

Im not even sure Cam is going to be the great savior that some think he will. Not sure his was a wise pick as #1, but who knows. But time will tell.

I want to see where young Matthews goes.. His brother was underated in the combines and picked in later rounds and he is tearing it up in the NFL..

I liked our pick of OL Gabe Carimi. Da Bears (Cutler) really needed help on the line, and Carimi is a big boy.

I kind of like Fairley to Lions. Fairley/Suh combo is gonna be hard to stop.

edit: thanks for drafting Ponder MN, that's one less team we have to worry about in the division.

AJ Green at 4th was a great pick. He will be an impact player right out the gate. I was a little pissed since I was hoping that he would fall to 6th. The bengals are gonna need wr since chad Johnson (i refuse to call him ocho cinco) has all but said that he is leaving. And TO is past his prime. I am a Browns fan. I think Julio Jones was a good pick, not great. What Atlanta gave up for him makes that a not great pick. Good for me though since we stockpiled picks.

I agree with you completely with the Ponder Pick. No Idea what they were thinking with Dalton and Mallet sitting there.

I was not crazy about the Vikings picking Ponder but they do need a QB. They took a chance on Harvin a couple years ago and it worked out great, hopefully the same here.

Yeah... Carimi was the guy I was hoping my Packers could have gotten - you'll love him.

How could you like Fairley to the Lions? That defensive line will make "Emo QB" even more miserable twice a year.

Couldn't agree more about Ponder to the Vikes. If they pick up McNabb and let Ponder sit and learn for a couple of seasons that might be OK, but if he starts it'll be a long, wretched year for them.
