The Trinidad has never disappointed me, and both the Monte and Cohiba Sublimes have been good. Oh yeah, I have some R&J petite pyramid EL's from '05 that are pretty good.

You know, a cigar I had over the holiday I think is great.

parti PSD#5 EL 08

This was a great smoke and they are still out there! Small, but a rich flavor bomb!

I have a couple boxes of the RyJ Hermosos No. 2 EL 04 that are smoking very well. I also thought the PSD1s from 04 were very special. The Montecristo Sublimes are very good, and I think the Grand Edmundos show promise.

You need to try the Cohiba piramides 2006 LE, Monte Sublimes LE 2008, Cohiba Sublimes 2004 LE, Cohiba Double Coronas 2003 LE, Partagas SDN1 2004 LE, Partagas SDN3 2001 LE and Partagas Piramides 2000 LE, those are the best LE IMO.

The Boliva LE is the nastiest cuban cigar I have ever had. It is discusting imo.
I would be happy to try them for you Ben if you are looking for volunteers. :cbig:

Never had a good Boliver LE or RE:argh:
The relatively new Bolivar 108 (2010 RE for Spain) is a pretty impressive cigar, although still quite young. I'm eager to see how these develop over the next several years.

With regard to LE's, I am really looking forward to a couple of the upcoming 2011's - HdM Hoyo Short Piramides and the Ramon Allones Especial. What I find appealing is that these are medium-sized sticks in interesting vitolas. Plus, that old-school green band they're using on the RA's is way cool.

I've only had a couple LEs. The one AMAZING one I had was the 2000 Partagas Piramides. Unbelievably good.

Beyond that, I'd not spend much money on LE's based on what I've had and heard from others. A 5er here and there, but not boxes (and ceritanly not blind).

I've got money saved for some Trinidad Robusto Ts, and that's all I"m really after atm.

I am excited about the RA Especials as well. Don't forget about the cohiba 1966s. Beautiful cigar.

Wouldn't you like to know?
Not at all impressed with these. I'd rather smoke a regular PC. More for you guys!:blushlove
I agree 100% with the short bolivar it didn't work for me. The simomes are pretty good if forget that it is supposed to be a bolivar. Think they got confused and put the wrong band on those.

The one LE that has impressed me a lot is the Monte Grand Edmundo. Really a wonderful cigar and worth the premium over the regular line Edmundo.

Thought this was an applicable bump....if only because the 2011 LEs are hitting shelves now, and curiuos if they're smoking any differently.

I've watched/read a review or two of the Ramon Allones Extra, and it didn't sound like it was worth pursuing IMO. Same dark wrapper, same bold wood/chocolate (often bitter) flavor that seem to be consistent with LEs i've had in the past...and thus, don't make them worth the pricepoint for me (or close even). At least the RA isn't going to be too overpriced (and is a great size), and the HdMs come in 10 counts.....but definitely no chance I'll go for the 1966 due to $$ alone.

But anyway, love to hear thoughts on the 2011s and/or new experiences w/ the older LEs? Whose pulling the trigger, whose steering clear etc.?

Out of everything new coming out recently, gotta say I'm the most tempted by the Upmann Royal Robustos...yet still hard to not think about just paying the extra $80 and getting a full box of Upmann 2s instead.

I've got an order in on a sampler of the new CCs - 1966, RA LE, PSD5 and PE2 just to try them. I am sure that these will be heavily discounted from today's prices in a year and certain vendors will be offering them in multi-box deals as are currently going on with certain vendors on the 2010 LEs. No point in paying up for them now when they need to rest a year anyway and prices will be 70% (or less) of what they are today within that year.
