As I understand it, silica beads are silica beads... once they've been "programmed" or seasoned to be 70% or whatever RH you want, that's what they are.
As I remember, the way I did mine was to isolate them with 70% RH using 50/50 mix, and that's what they are... 70%. Take's time to season them - be patient.
I seem to remember reading that you can slowly mist them or spritz them with 50/50 and that will get them to 70% quicker but they usually crack internally from the speed of the water/moisture being added - so they become kind of white'ish, not clear.
I remember a few guys did some test's over at cigarpass forum, preembargo and AllOfUs123 as I remember, one guy used a cigar oasis to season his, and the other literally poured the 50/50 mix onto the beads. One set was prettier than the other, but the end result was the same. I'll see if I can dig up the post.
