I have actually gotten big hits of ammonia on more than one occasion (but not more than a few) from My Father cigars in the past. Sounds like what you experienced. Just a fluke I think.

Kawliga, where are those pics from? Miami? If that's Miami... they sure did a great job of remodeling! If that's Nica, that's a great addition too!
Its from the new factory in miami. Right now they have to keep MF separate from everything else because of their "legal issues." They are still getting the new place all set up but the whole place is beautiful. Walk in humi room, deck overlooking the water out back, offices on the second story. The new place is a huge step up from the 8th street factory.

Looking forward to smoking this stick. The price point here in Cali is a bit high though. I'll be on the lookout for trades/sales here.

It is the new Miami offices... not really a factory because there is nothing being produced there, that still happens on calle ocho, and at the big factory in Nicaragua.
I can't believe I like less than 30 mins from the new place and have still not been there.

Jaime LEs just came in today to my B&M, did not get a chance to smoke one, but they sure have a nice aroma while they burn... Was very tempted to smoke one with the other 2 guys that where smoking them. No complaints of chem tastes.

I had intentions of checking this stick again before I left for the office yesterday morning, but lets just say that Monday mornings don't always go as planned.

When I got home though I gave it a quick dry hit. Still a bit of a paint taste, but not near as strong as it was Sunday. Keep in mind the stick is now cut and out of the cello. I'm gonna give this a few days longer and hopefully chalk it up to
1. An odd occurrence
2. my taste buds being weird (don't think was it though as another person confirmed and I smoked an EL03 instead of this and it tasted as normal)

As far as the comments on painted boxes go ... I agree!!

I was at the MF factory last week and smoked one in their lounge...

Jamie hung out and smoked with us!

This cigar did not taste like paint! It was phenomenal. It was a strong cigar, stronger than the MF LE but it was still balanced, not just strength over powering the flavor. I like it so much that I picked up a box. Give it another try
Is this the My Father cigar factory in esteli?

Got my box Thursday (and associated shwag) and torched one last night. It was tasty.

However, I did remove them from the box after reading this today.......
Make sure you put them into tue humi in the spare room for safe keeping.
