What do you avoid while smoking to keep the enjoyment high?
I Was sitting there tonight smoking a fine bit of tobacco and could not stand the "rumbling stomach hunger pangs" any longer. I usually never eat while/during smoking, but my gut told me otherwise tonight. So I foolishly went for something fast and allowable on my diet...natural peanut butter. This was a wrong choice! The residual tobacco smoke stuck to the leftover peanut butter in my mouth and coated completely. I highly recommend avoiding this combo.

Carls Jr and other "college" food is my go to... but agree, generally either before or after a cigar. My preference is more of a cigar and drink (with snacks maybe) as opposed to cigar and food - but I'm always up for trying.

I pretty much always have the same "routine" when smoking. I never eat while I'm smoking, but I make sure my stomach has something in it before or take a break in between a couple cigars to eat. I pretty much always have a good cold beer, sometimes rum, rarely a mojito and once a coke, depending on the occasion. :)

I have found that for me when smoking, not to mix any dairy products. I just can't handle them with a cigar, and think about it. Ice cold glass of milk with your cigar? Gross.

My problem is that I eat supper, do stuff with the kids/work around the house, put the kids to bed, THEN it's my time. So in between supper and cigar is most often 3-3.5 hours, which mean that by 9:30pm I am starting to get hungry right in the middle of cigars. Normally I tend to not have a problem, but last night was the exception.

I just wanted to see if anyone else has food/drink that they avoid as they find a bad combo. I always have something like water or Gin and Pepsi with my cigars, never fails.

I try to avoid my wife! HA!
I was so thinking that too.

Yeah, I usually never smoke on a empty stomach. When you think about it, do you like to do anything while hungry?

I also try to smoke when I know I'll not be disturbed. Which for me usually means my son is sleeping.

You mean "PBJ" doesn't stand for "peanut butter and Jalapa"???

*slaps self*

Now I understand what I've been doing wrong!

As a more serious response to your post, I also once tried a disasterous combination with smoking a cigar. I tried honey-sweetened bourbon. Yuck! the sweetness stays in the mouth and ruins the taste of the cigar.

This story reminds me of when in my youth I would forget about just having brushed my teeth and promptly start chewing sour apple bubblegum...bad idea.

Wind. I really dislike smoking when there is a breeze. Affects the burn etc.

Anything with a lot of bite, e.g. Mexican food, hot sausage, etc. Totally blows out my taste buds for hours.
