Altadis also owns rights to H. Upmann, Saint Luis Rey, Jose Piedra, Quintero, and Trinidad. Vegas Robaina should be available as well, being a post-revolutionary brand. I guess Altadis would have to buy back the rights from General Cigar before the core brands became available in the U.S. market. Or they could work out a deal where GC becomes the sole U.S. distributor, but I don't think Habanos S.A. would want to share the pie. Who knows. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I question whether or not Cuba will allow any bulk leaf to be exported at all. It would quite intriguing to see a return of "Clear Havanas."
They could have already been doing that if they wanted to. The embargo doesn't prevent them doing business with Nicaragua or DR. There are some NC brands with a significant market outside the US (Davidoff, for example) who wouldn't have any legal issues seling clear havanas.

Don't forget the fakes that will be EVERYWHERE.....
Anyone who can get them will have a field day selling them,I predict that for a time there will be twice as many fakes in the US as real sticks. Then it will be hard to tell which are real, and the demand will drop due to the media flogging the story,as the media always does.
Newbies will go on Facebook and state that Cuban cigars are a big nothing, and then the media will flog that.
Of course the prices will go insane, due to middlemen, crooked sellers, taxes, etc.
It's a given that quality will suffer, and Cuba already has a quality control problem.
Now,who is looking forward to legal Cuban cigars?
