@Ralemonds1s RG is all about how much leaf you put in the filler and how tight you roll. 4 leaves should be about right though for a 50 depending on the primings. If the sticks aren't coming out tight enough try bringing the case of the leaf up a little, this helped me a lot when I first started.
As for the wrapper its about normal to only get 2 sticks out of a full leaf. I can wrap about 6 PCs with one leaf but have to pass on the caps to make it work. Its not proper but it does make the wrapper go a little further.

The mold I have been using produces a 5" x 48-50rg stick and I use 2 1/2 leaves for filler with virtually no filler waste. For that size stick I am able to get 4 wrappers per leaf of most wrapper leaf. I am partial to a smaller/shorter smoke though so it works well for me. If I was rolling toros or Churchills I would be going through quite a bit more wrapper.

Thanks for the advice. I just got another bunched and I brought the case of my binder up quite a bit from my first two and I was definitely able to get a tighter roll.

4 wrappers per leaf?! That's what I'm hoping to achieve.

Jon, I'm going to be rolling without a mold until I'm happy with my technique. Is there a size you'd recommend I stick to that might lend to more success? Does it matter?

I think it's all personal preference. I started rolling really small sticks so I could roll more and get more practice. I say roll whatever size you like best. Get a feel for the process and take notes of the blends you make so you can duplicate good ones and avoid repeating ones you don't care for.

Thanks Jon. I have a very specific cigar in mind, but I'm not going to bother chasing that until I get some technique down. I think I'll stick with smaller sticks as well.

Got ten sticks that had been put in the mold yesterday wrapped today then decided to put some test blends into the mold that @daleo8803 bombed me yesterday. The mold I have been using would take 2.5 leaves of filler, this one is seeming to like 1.5 leaves of filler which makes blending a little more difficult. The two on the right are 1/2 leaf Nica Habano seco, 1 leaf corojo viso, and 1/2 leaf criollo ligero. The two on the left are the same blend but I cut the viso back by a half leaf to fit better in the mold. Now to decide what to wrap them all in. I would like to try a variety of wrappers but didn't get enough in the mold to do that tonight. Tomorrow I hope to get these wrapped then fill the mold up again to play around with different wrappers to see what works best and if I need to go a different direction with the blend.

Rolled these yesterday but I left them in the mold over night. Seemed to have helped the shape out a lot

Looks awesome man. I actually smoked my first one on my way to work this morning, and besides a few burn issues the flavor was awesome! Would compare it to a stick I would pay close to 8 bucks for. Don't see myself buying any cigars anytime soon.

So, question for everyone, how do you store your leaves? I'm assuming everyone does the fridge-freeze-fridge cycles when they first receive it, but how do you store it?

Do you only bring what you intend to use at that time up to case?

I probably already read the answer in this thread, but subsequently forgot it.
