Boutiques make up that small group like the small group that you call the online community. Never once said anything to contradict that point but you seem content in accusing me of it.
You don't like boutique brands cool...but don't ever throw around the term koolaid like it's some cool buzzword because you don't know anything else to say.

IMO you're wrong, and you have no empirical evidence to support your claim. I would contend that LE cigars attract attention, publicity and a "buzz" which in return helps their bottom line. Example: A customer hears about an LE cigar being sold at a certain shop and wants to know more. After doing some research on the site or visiting a local B & M, they decide to pass on making an LE purchase, but instead pick up or order something completely different. I'm sure Abe at Smoke Inn isn't consistently doing limited edition cigar business (Tat Anarchy, Padron SI 15 etc.) for $hits and giggles........it's working, and your argument is incredulous and flawed.

BTW... this is a fairly cheap cigar in MN, which has the third or fourth highest cigar taxes in the country (75% uncapped) depending on how you evaluate Vermont's taxes. I think one of the reasons why Jeff has gotten so many LEs is precisely because of this, as it's hard for him to really be anywhere close to competitive with online dealers simply because of this tax. I'm sure for a handful of products, what Jeff pays between wholesale and taxes is 20% higher than what you can find it online. Just a thought.

Customers keep B&M's open, not ANY cigar; that means sell what people want. Even if it means countless LE's. The people are speaking and they want them.

Quit being a prick. You jumped on me...and now you're just being insulting.
Some shops support themselves on boutique brands. My home shop has about 5 facings of general/altadis cigars in the whole humidor. Macanudo and the like is NOT supporting that shop and there are many others like it out there.
I know this was a retorical question, but I am answering it anyways.
Because its fun to watch grown men squabble over tobacco.
If we are really tired of all of these "LE'' releases, then we should stop buying them. Until they stop flying off the shelf, they will continue to be released. So how can anyone complain when we are the cause of it?
Its like someone capable of working on Section 8 or Welfare bitching about the failing economy.
Without consumers chasing these things down, they most likely wouldn't exist. I don't find it such a perplexing question or issue.
I for one have hung up the towel, no more chasing for me. It seems to have become a pissing contest and that takes away from the fun of it for me. That being said, if a local shop has a special release or LE specifically for a said shop, I will most likely support it, but thats the line for me.
