You seem completely vested in this arguement so I'll leave you alone to that task.Wow. Just wow. Enjoy your KoolAid. General Cigar was bought out in 2005.

Boutique cigars do NOT keep B&M stores OPEN. The TOP SELLING Brands do.
The "internet cigar community" isn't even a FACTOR.
IMO you're wrong, and you have no empirical evidence to support your claim. I would contend that LE cigars attract attention, publicity and a "buzz" which in return helps their bottom line. Example: A customer hears about an LE cigar being sold at a certain shop and wants to know more. After doing some research on the site or visiting a local B & M, they decide to pass on making an LE purchase, but instead pick up or order something completely different. I'm sure Abe at Smoke Inn isn't consistently doing limited edition cigar business (Tat Anarchy, Padron SI 15 etc.) for $hits and giggles........it's working, and your argument is incredulous and flawed.Wow. Just wow. Enjoy your KoolAid. General Cigar was bought out in 2005.

This thread is running out of fumes!
agreed. valid point. Ive moved on!Then the LE's don't affect you since you don't buy them, so it shouldn't bother anyone.

Empirical Evidence? How about the blatantly obvious facts staring you in the face? There will always be an entrepreneurial spirit behind the cigar industry, with both cigar families and new unknowns entering into the brother and sisterhood. The success rate seems quite small, but it also appears to be widening from the added exposure provided by social media. Boutique owners are not going to drastically cut into the profits of industry giants, nor are they going to overtake the palate of the casual smoker that walks into their bricks and mortar before golf each week. And, thankfully, this isn’t their intention; they seem to be satisfied with their small, though growing corner of the industry. The next time you walk into your local B&M, or place an online order, take a look at some of these boutique blends; you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Jim Jones, Guyana, November 1978.but don't ever throw around the term koolaid like it's some cool buzzword because you don't know anything else to say.
Grow up.Jones and several members argued that the group should commit "revolutionary suicide" by drinking cyanide-laced grape flavored Flavor-Aid along with a sedative
They were unwitting victims. Spiked Flavor-ade, not KoolaidSmoke Magazine, Fall 2010. LINK

Some shops support themselves on boutique brands. My home shop has about 5 facings of general/altadis cigars in the whole humidor. Macanudo and the like is NOT supporting that shop and there are many others like it out there.Smoke Magazine, Fall 2010. LINK
