Aros = aromatics, right?

Gonna have my first bowl tonight while listening to the Hawks game! Any suggestions on which one I should try first? I am going to use the cob for the first few bowls until I get my lighting and packing techniques down.

One more question (and i should probably move this to PM so I don't clutter up the thread) - the Big Ben has a filter. How often should i replace the filter and can it be smoked without it?

Or, we can create a new thread of dumb noob pipe questions for members too excited to look for the answers in previous threads.

Rest assured, I asked a lot of dumb questions when smokinghole and Edwin blind-sided me, I still ask a lot of dumb questions, and because of the recent few posts, I have about thirty six or thirty seven more questions. In my excitement, I have probably missed a few questions I should have asked.

Me personally I toss the filter.

The Carter Hall is excellent for learning the pack and light. other than that pick one that smells nice and try.

There are two stickies in the pipe section to help you out (101, getting started) I have dreams of updating/combining those at some point, but for now, they're there!
(But by all means, add more questions there if they're haven't already been addressed. If you're wondering, chances are, someone else is too!)

I was hoping it was I who was wrong. I haven't been able to watch much hockey lately, and I actually have time tonight.

there is a beauty and symmetry to this statement as it is.

So Sean (javajunkie) destroyed me today! This is way over the top brother, thank you very much! Here's the damage .....

Two pipes

English baccy

Virginia baccy

Aros

And an added bomb of retaliation for the contest I'm running

Seriously brother, this is insanity! It's gonna take a while to recover from this one .....

justin, glad it made it safe!

1) you CANNOT run a contest including someone who owes you a trade and HASN'T YET shipped their side, and NOT expect a little reprisal.
2) pipe tobacco is super cheap, especially the way i buy it.
3) the pipe LOOKS like the one i intended to send, just gently smoked versus a fresh basket. regardless, it should be a performer for you. if you need, a couple of pipe cleaners full of alcohol through the stem should be enough to make it smokable for you, if you want to go through the trouble...

either or, you have some work ahead of you, so ENJOY! o)

and, as i got accused of claim jumping, hit me up when i am due for a n00b. o)
(seriously, totally available, lemme know...)

This is probably a mistake, as it would appear that Sean is up as a sponsor, but I'd be game for a pipe newb trade. I've bought a couple pipes, and a few tins and a little bulk here and there, but feel like I'd benefit from a broad sampler from a experienced-er piper.
Thanks,
-Dude
