I smoked cigarettes for years then quit for about three years before I started smoking Cigars.

About a year ago, I was going through some stuff at work and the cigarettes were an interesting (read POOR) way to help. I am now working in quitting again, and am down to one or two a day at most, and sometimes a couple of days without any.

I don't mind cigarettes, but I know they aren't healthy and I know if my kids knew i was smoking they would be disappointed. That's been most helpful in helping me quit again. It's a hard one to kick.

I started smoking cigars long before I started on cigarettes.. gave up the habit a few years ago and now can't stand the smell even though the act keeps beckoning me.

I smoked cigarrettes for a few years. Started in high school and really picked up in college. Managed to quit for a few years, then started up again. During that time I enoyed cigars, but never to the extent I do now. Cigars are much superior, but when you're a two pack a day smoker cigars would cost too much :sadstare:. I always smoked Camels, unless I was out and someone let me bum one (which usually was a Marlbro since that's what my friends smoked :cursing:). My favorite were Camel Reds, but those things were damn near $5 a pack. I finally quit when my wife and I found out we were having a kid. So now I smoke cigars when I'm out with the guys and she gets to complain that I've taken this "cigar thing" to far . Since I'm not spending $30 or so a week in cigarettes, I can afford to buy more/better cigars .

I guess I am in the minority here, I personally smoke both. I will smoke just over half a pack a day, Camel Menthol's, and have about 4 or 5 cigars a week. The main drawback as to why I do not smoke more cigars is that all my smoking (with a rare exception) is done in my car, usually after work on my way home. I also must agree, i was 'that guy' who would smoke a cigarette, take my time and smoke a cigar after but follow it up with another cigarette. Started smoking cigarettes in high school, quit during the marine corps but thats when I picked up cigar smoking - got home and now smoking both.

I don't smoke cigarettes often. Sometimes when I'm at a party or something, I'll go out and bum one, but never alone.
