And talking about a "vendor", even one that sells fakes, is a violation of this boards no vendor discussion policy IMO.

My post was more in reference to the person who stated he sold fakes. I have proof he doesn't. In my post I referenced what you are discussing. The behike incident. The same guys got a lot of product at great prices and took full advantage prior to the screw up. He did screw up though. That said I have yet to find anyone that did not receive their money or product in the end. I will say again he did screw up. He tried to take on more then he could. I think he entered the deal thinking he could. He overestimated his abilities. My understanding was he advised he was going to obtain the product and then couldn't get it. The pricing offered was good which was why people were willing to wait I thought. Then it was determined he couldn't get the product. Then the ensuing shit storm. Everyone loves a good dog pile on cigar boards. I have seen it on every board.

As I tend to only buy 3 boxes at a time of everyday stuff I dont have the issues. Thats why I mentioned that as well. So basically he sells legit product, packs well, has probably the best success rate of anyone, but can take on more then he can handle. When everyone else had packages snagged all his got through. Not a perfect vendor, by far, but I would use him before multiple other swiss vendors and some others.

My perspective is different I guess. I am aware of the facts, but have only had positive dealings. I have also built a relation with him and as a result have more trust. Everything he has told me has been true and or occurred
He's done this on individual orders for every day smokes as well. I was speaking about that although I am aware of the Behike situation.

I'm going to refrain from further comment on this as tandblov is correct about vendor discussion.

I just made my first custom cuban purchase (the torps that brooks reviewed). Hopefully these don't turn out to be fake dog turds...
Well, Brooks has changed his review as to the origin of these, FYI.

And for the record, Brooks is NOT responsible for the authenticity of the cigars he reviews. He just relays the info as reported by the manufacturer...He doesn't endorse anybody.

Anyway, not the point...

The point is, why would a so called Robaina farmie have a stark white ash, while all of the other Robainas fresh off the truck do not? Same farm, same crop, same tobacco...Even roughly from the same time frame (farmie vs. FOT)

Very, very odd IMHO

As to the DG issue as I said I will pm picks with serial numbers and seals to back what I have said.

As to the farmies. I will burn one from the local shop tonight. I don't recal the ash being white. I can not authenticate drews stuff. Will do my best to take a pic

The ash on the Merecer customs IS white. Drew himself noted it, and it is noted as "stark white" in Brooks' review.

Not the norm for Cubans at all.

I'd love to believe that these are Cuban farmies...They look absolutely gorgeous in the pics.

Guys, I have changed my review as to the origin of these cigars for the moment, as I have conflicting sources telling me different things, and I want to make sure before I lead anyone astray.

Having said that, the cigar review I put up is still valid in every other aspect. It IS a very good cigar (to my tastes), that had a very white ash.

We are talking about the ultra premium hand rolled custom Cuban "Brooks Exclusivos", made from 20 year old Cuban tobacco, kept in Castro's secret vault!

Where? Am I missing something? I still see Cuba referenced everywhere from the title to the binder/filler/wrapper.

Tremendous marketing efforts by Mercer, though. It's genius if you think about it.

No, I was talking about them being Robania Farm Cigars specifically, not if they were Cuban.
