My Dad and I had Kelty external frame packs. They were the top of the line when we bought them. REI bags with an extra half pound of down. Havent had that sucker on since my son got Eagle and went to college. Before that we would do black diamond camps in Michigan which was 0 and below at least one night.

Don't feel bad Matt, we all thought it was funny the first time we heard it. It was the next 200 times that kinda wore us down.

I've been to Philmont several times and have eaten several brownies.

Even after I became an Eagle Scout I worked for lots of summer camps. I'd have to say I was the best Aquatics Director ever...

Most of the time boy scouts wasn't all the fun. But the trips and camps rocked.

Alot of fun......freezing aaaaa cold though......rough getting out of sleeping bag in the morning though!!!!
Yeah. People dont know what cold is until they spend the night in a sleeping bag at sub-zero, getting up every hour to make sure none of the scouts were frozen solid. Never slept. They loved it though.

I did summer camps. Was the Regional OA chief. Then an adult volunteer.
