Hey guys,

I am have seriously been running on what feels like zero lately. No amount of coffee or monster energy seems to penetrate this. I don't want a heart attack from all the monster I am drinking, but I also don't want to fall asleep during my commute to work. I feel bad that the baby is playing in the living room with me struggling to stay awake the whole time she is awake.

I am 32, in fairly good shape. My exercise routine hasn't been great for the past year because of the baby. My fiancee and I work opposite shifts with me working mornings and her leaving for work as soon as i pull in from work. Now that the baby is sleeping more soundly and self entertaining better I am going to start working out again. Although I have the P90x routine I cannot dedicate that big of a chunk of my day right now some of the workouts. I do mostly body weight workouts and cardio.

What do you guys do to boost energy levels? Take supplements? Smoothies? I am sure exercising will help once i get a few weeks into my routine again. I am used to running at 110%. This is killing me.

Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.

First things first, make sure your healthy and it's not an actual issue like apnea or something. Once you know your good, exercise will definitely help. I am a cardiovascular man, just because I have always been overweight and I am a believer that I can be fat and still healthy.

If youre into the P90X thing.. they just launched a new program called T25... super efficient.. just 25 minutes a day... kinda reminds me of some crazy crossfit/80's aerobics/P90X hybrid...

I recomend giving Trader Joe's Super Green drink powder a try.

It has improved my energy level since I started taking it.

mdwest, The p90x is an option because i have it laying around. Never used it very much. I made my own workout routine up. That has kept me in pretty good shape for this long lol.

Hot_Sauce I have a Trader Joe's pretty close to me I'll have to look into it.

I've got a bunch of shorter bodyweight/crossfit and combo type dumbbell workouts that my trainer has me do as "homework". I'd be glad to send your way - maybe some good ideas...just lemme know. Not that I'm in super great shape yet, but they seem to be a boost at least.

positivity. you will be surprised how far you can get by just seeing the glass as half full. psychology can have as much impact as physiology, and lingering doubts and fears will torque your body. you got a baby, you got a lady, you both got jobs. you have a lot going well for you right now, and anything else can be worked on and dealt with. don't leat your brain talk your body tired.

Food is the best medicine. I have recently cut out ALL processed food and meat. So yes I am one of those weirdos but I feel better than I have in a very long time. There are plenty of articles and documentarys that talk about simple nutrition being the cure for just about everything and I take a little bit from everything I come across. But get rid of the energy drinks and limit coffee to the mornings. Eat only fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains, ETC. It is not as hard as you think if you want to feel good again and be healthy for your family

Young babies will FUNK you up... I did fruit smoothies, B vitamins, and two 30 minute bike rides a day. I worked at a bar til 3am, and was up all day with my infant son and still found time to write papers for school. It was GNARLY, but through positivism and perseverance, I made it.

Ditch the red bull and garbage food. Take some vitamin b12 enjoy the bright yellow pee...and try to keep things around you that motivate you and make you happy. Perception is a huge factor in daily life...figuring this out helped me immensely !!

Actually about the diet. Other than the energy drinks I don't eat garbage food. I don't go out to eat(maybe once a month and never fast food). We survive on mostly home cooked meals. Red meat maybe once a week. Mostly chicken and fish. Quinoa, bulgur, and rice as sides most nights. Because my daughter has become a picky eater I have been doing an omelette once a day. Usually a little olive oil so it doesnt stick instead of butter, three or more veggies, and bacon sometimes(not always)

Now I have to be better at breakfast. I drive an hour to work so i usually skip it for something i can carry easily and consume on the drive. I might be doing my smoothies for mornings.

What ever you do be careful not to burn the candle at both ends! You can easily wear your body's immune system down by doing to much causing more serious problems. The fact that your getting older also has alot to do with it. Wait till you hit forty...like a brick wall!! Get your rest, eat healthy as possible, take care of your family, and then make time to exercise. Prioritizing a healthy routine will lesson the stress and not make you feel like your missing out on your other duties. I know this first hand as this is how I became ill and caused my muscle disease to take hold. Consult your doctor too and find out what vitamins you should be taken instead of guessing. As you get older don't forget your testosterone lowers too...Just the mean game mother nature plays on us men.

I just turned 30, and a few years ago I started to notice that my energy just wasn't there. It took longer to get going, and I started relying on energy drinks to make it through the day. I haven't been real big on exercise, but being a carpenter I stay in Decent shape just from work. My diet was healthy, little to no fast food, and I haven't drank soda in well over 10 years. My issue was LOW T, I went to a clinic and had the test, I don't have health insurance, so I buy a test supplement at GNC, I can't remember the name of it right now, but it has seriously changed my energy levels and my mood, I'm the person I was 5 years ago. After seeing how the LOW T affected me, my dad went to his doc, and was also diagnosed with LOW T, he uses androgel 1.62, and his moods and energy levels are back to where they should be as well.
