Same sticks, different bands/boxes. This was the deal with Rocky. Rocky handles distribution of the brand now, which means he does his own packaging, shipping, and marketing, etc. I think Pepin ships Rocky the cigars and he does the rest.

That's part of the reason these cigars are able to be cheaper now ... Rocky Patel is so huge now that they can do everything cheaper.

Personally, I think the boxes look just fine, though I liked the old bands better (I'm sure they were more expensive, though). That said, bands are not a big deal at all when you know the cigars are good!
Actually it is my understanding that Rocky now owns 51% of the brand!

This is correct he does. He also did change the blend slightly. But they are in the process now of changing the band and cigar back due to all of the flack that has been given. I have first hand knowledge of this.

First I've heard of any blend change... although most blends don't stay the same each year...

All this talk about how important the appearance of bands are, I'd almost think I'm reading from a bunch of Gurkha fans.... :stickbeat Take the band off if it's that big of a deal! :stretchgr
