1. I think people are way more concerned about humidity than is necessary. Yes, it is important but still.
2. Do you mean revolving boxes through different coolers/humidors/wineadors/jumpadors etc? or do you mean individual cigars?
I think we just need good habits and no worries...

I am mainly scared about the one cigar while it was in B&M... or should I always go sleeveless? I never bothered removing anything.

JUST SMOKE IT.

See how easily I solve the problem? Was it a store in Montreal? Haven't been to one there recently.

Was in the suburbs. I am just not going there anymore. Huge humidity problems.

But humidity seems unreliable at several places, so...

Hooray, the first non cedar sleeve sleeve reference! I think this is officially a thread now :D If I was a betting man, I would have put money on a "gun show" reference, but that's just me.
I'm hoping this was supposed to be a tattoo sleeve we're talking about, and not that you just like to show off extremely thin slices of cedar to unsuspecting passers by, otherwise I look like a fool. Well, more so a fool than I usually do

Have you had issues specific to the Añejo line, or just making sure you don't? I do see a lot of reference to them having issues, but maybe it's just one of the better ones to "share the pain" with.
I had a partial box tucked away in the bottom of a cooler. I had smoked a few and bombed a few before putting them away to forget about. I kept seeing posts about mold associated with cedar sleeves, especially on Anejos, so I dug out the box after about a year and sure enough almost every one had mold developing.

Yikes! That's a scary story. Crazy how often Añejos come up in this situation. Now I'm starting to feel a bit paranoid about all of mine! I was thinking about Fuente in general, and off the top of my head I can't think of another manufacturer that uses as much cedar. I guess that would explain to some degree why they get so much attention, but then again I really can't think of a non Fuente picture or story with a case of moldy cedar.

The only cedar sleeved sticks I had were some Anejo 888's. I had them for only a couple of weeks before somebody in chat talked about having mold under a sleeve. After researching it on here, I was stunned at the amount of posts of mold issues with Fuente. I didn't find any mold, but I took them off as a precaution. Maybe they would be fine, but if I let it go, I know I would just be laying awake at night and wondering.

Thanks for adding your experience, Mossome.
If anyone is taking the time to read past the first post, I have another question for you. If you have had mold issues specific to cedar sleeves, please let us know when you got your sticks and how long you had them before finding the mold. There has to be some sort of reason Fuente sticks see so many problems. I wonder if there could have been a bad batch of cedar or some other variable that Fuente could have resolved. If all cases are from, say for example, two years ago and older and no issues since, this could be a problem that has been isolated and corrected.
Now I know I'm going to start getting the "You're overthinking, just smoke and enjoy" comments. This is, for me at least, just to satisfy my curiosity. I do just smoke and enjoy in real life, but in cyber-world I have more fun overthinking everything!

different years,
different cigars,
different lengths of time,

and the first step they say is admitting it.

I just remove the cedar from a couple Anejo 46's I have. My 2012 was mold free but my 2013 did have some mold. Thanks for the info shared in this thread!

Wow, great thread, I never even knew this is an issue. Guess I should check on the two year old opus I have with a sleeve on it. Thanks for bringing this up.
