One thing I would suggest with this is to segregate the sticks that had the little white spots. That's mold. Sticks often start to mold when the air isn't circulated enough and humidity starts to build and settle on the sticks. Wipe off the mold on those sticks and bring them back separately.
Also, you can use the humi to bring the humidity slowly. The humi is probably pretty dry, and when you season the humi the humidity comes up slowly. This could really help to control the humidity change. Now, there might be some issue there that I have not taken into account, but I would rehydrate them in the humi, myself.
