+1Toast the foot until it's lit, then one puff out the cigar.
+2 Perdomo Vector FTWToast it with the 3 flame torch and go to town
I did that the other day just out of the blue... It just seemed like the thing to do and it worked!...but if you blow on the end, it flattens the cherry to the center and edges. IMO.
This is my method as well. I light by rotated puffing around the edges, a couple minues after toasting to black.I voted for OTHER because I toast the foot good as well before puffing a flame. After the foot is toasted good I will rotate while puffing the light for good measure. This 95% of the time insures a solid and even burn.
Winner winner....:stretchgrand then dave follows the "puff, puff, pass " rule of thumb
+1 here. Cut, toast, then hit it with the flame through one draw.Cut it, toast it, then finish it off with a final puff with the flame.
What he saidI toast the foot like a mad man till it has a nice even glow on it.. it takes a while so you have to be patient when in a hurry I'll toast it for a bit then puff to get going.

LMAO guys that wasn't an option...but yea it seems like what most folks do.What he said
Never thought of lighting a cigar this way. I'll have to give it a try.I light and blow. I think the puff pulls the cherry to the center of the cigar mostly, but if you blow on the end, it flattens the cherry to the center and edges. IMO.
I toast the foot til it's got a glow, then puff.
So after following this thread today, I decided to give this a go with tonights smoke (an Oliva Connie)... Gave it a good toasting till I had the whole foot glowing and then blew on the end. I really didn't expect it to work nearly as well as it did. You could literally see the cherry flatten out. I may have a new method! Thanks Mitch!I light and blow.
